ISFJs and Change
In general, ISFJs value consistency and tradition in their life's structure. They take care to maintain their world and keep it tidy both in terms of physical appearance and schedule.
Change is not something ISFJs seek out regularly, especially large changes to their lives. Such is my current predicament...
At work I have given my all and have learned many lessons and acquired several valuable skills in automotive repair, but I have come to the realization that I do not see myself working in the industry for an extended period of time. It is simply too frustrating. I am good at what I do and I could go far, but I would not be happy in the long run. The people I work with are good and I will miss them, but the people I work for I will not miss; I go above and beyond to keep things running smoothly, but I am not rewarded for my efforts. This is partially my own fault for not drawing attention to that fact nearly as much as I should, but it is irrelevant given the decision I made to change career paths.
Making a career change is no small thing and it upsets a large portion of my routine and introduces many unknowns. I see this as a challenge to overcome and I have no doubts that I will do well for myself, but leaving the comfort and known parameters of my old path is not something I relish.
ISFJs have an unfortunate tendency to avoid change, often to their detriment, and tell themselves they can improve the situation eventually. It doesn't always work out well, though, and a lot of time and effort is wasted attempting to change what can not be changed. I have made this mistake many times and this next career step is my first major attempt to make a large change instead of coasting along with the lackluster hope of eventually bringing about change to make things bearable again in the name of preserving comfort in routine.
Here goes a new adventure. I have no doubts I have what it takes to excel in my new role, but the uncertainty of the unknown mutters cynically in the corner of my mind. Adapting takes effort.
If life was always easy, there would be no exceptional challenges or hard-won rewards. Calm seas never made a skillful sailor.

Procrastination be like
Hi there! It's me, surprise! I don't know how many people will actually read this, I hardly ever make text posts like this, but this is extremely important. My friend and his wife and kids are losing their house, and has had to essentially put everything else in their life on hold. You don't have to donate, and you certainly shouldn't if you don't have the means, but it would mean the world to me if you did. Even if it's just 2 cents, every. Penny. Counts. If you yourself are going through hard times, first of all, I'm sorry and hope things get better, and second, it's a-okay. If you want to reblog because times are tough, it's just as greatly appreciated. I'm posting the link here for anybody who wants to donate and/or reblog. Thank you so much for taking time to read this absolute wall of text.
