I decided this year to refine my style a bit more. It is still very much androgynous as I am and will always be a tomboy at heart. Above are some of the photos I liked the most this year. Basically I wear the same things over and over again. All the coats and blazers I own are from the thrift store. I have collected them over the years. I rather have a closet filled with clothes I can wear again and again.

Today, on December 2, 2015:

I have a full-time teaching job. I have one more semester left until I graduate with my masters degree and teaching credential. I have a supportive family. I have a boyfriend who loves me more than I love myself. I have a dance team that continues to push me. I have my Los Angeles family that will always keep me happy. I have a roof over my head, meals to eat, and a bed to sleep in - all thanks to my parents. I have a working macbook, kindle, and iphone. I have a book collection. I have a degree from UCLA.

My life is hard, but I definitely did not have all of this a year ago. A year from now, my problems won’t be problems.. but they’ll be another reminder on my list of things I have in my life that I didn’t before. I’m living my dream of becoming a teacher. It’s ridiculously harder than I’ve ever expected, but it’s exactly where I wanted to be.

I just want to give a shout out to my boyfriend who will probably never see this because he doesn’t go on tumblr very often.

Our relationship (or lack of) has been fluctuating for the past two years until two months ago when we were both finally in the right mindset to be in a long distance relationship. Don’t get me wrong, long distance relationships suck, but it hasn’t been very difficult with him. I’ve been going through a really rough semester, and homie has stuck with me through everything. I’ve even ugly-cried-anxiety-attacked on skype and he just sat there and talked to me.

So, thanks.

Thanks for writing me haikus and putting them in a jar for me to read. Thanks for falling asleep on Skype with me. Thanks for checking up on me in the morning, after I teach, during class, and before I go to bed. Thank you for believing in me when I don’t. Thank you for being vulnerable with me. Thank you for waking up and choosing to love me back everyday.

I hate writing in short thoughts but i’ve had caffeine and well.. this is how my brain processes things.

i’m ready. but i’m not. what the hell 12th grade? cset cset cset. i’m scared of the feeling of failure, not the act of failing. I need to make more time for myself that isn’t sleep. When will the studying end? If I got through today, I can get through tomorrow. I’m already tired and I haven’t started teaching. WHEN DID I BECOME AN ADULT? Eastcoast. Westcoast. Midwest. Hire me. I need to do my Action Research. School needs to start. Anxiety. Anxiety. Anxiety. I guess I’ll study now.

One Day.

One day I’m going to be proud of myself.

It’s also important to understand that some days I won’t be. I need to be okay with that.

I’m very content with my life right now. I know I’m nowhere near where I’d like to be, but I know I’m getting there. I’m still hurt, I’m still tired, I’m still scared, I’m still broken. But it’s nowhere near how determined, motivated, excited, and willing I am.

Sometimes I forget to give myself credit for how much my mindset has changed.
