Don’t mind him —- he’s utterly exhausted. His head might have fallen by accident into your shoulder. For once, he actually looks his age when he’s asleep, and at the very least Kira’s face brooks no nightmares, no lines under his eyes or a face contorted with the horrors of war.

You might have to move him yourself.

Richard glanced down at the weight that sunk down on his shoulder, the steady rhythm that Kira’s breaths had fallen into. The sun was warm in the yard, the gentle lapping of waves on the beach the perfect pace to lull one’s consciousness from reality.

It was clear that Kira had been tired, signs that the monarch perhaps knew from having worn them himself a bit too often. Softly closing his eyes, Richard relished in the warmth and peace of the afternoon. Seeing his friend sleeping so softly, the monarch had not the heart to wake him.

Let him sleep a bit longer.

But it was the presence or sounds of others that often caused Kira to wake up. He had trained his body in war-time to wake at the slightest of sounds, generally making him a light sleeper. So while it was not intentional that he had been woken, the Coordinator woke all the same.

His gaze is sleepy at best, lidded violet eyes looking up at the figure with a brief moment of alarm, as if not quite seeing who he was until reality carved it into him.

“Oh, Richard, it’s you. Sorry about that. Was I sleeping for very long? Was there something you needed? I didn’t mean to keep you waiting if there was something you needed. The air just felt nice, that’s all.”
