Hey guys, thank you so much for all the love you gave to my Silksong Steelsoul fancomic!! I'm really glad you liked it so much!

I'll post some close-up from panels after the cut, if you want to see me rambling about my work! I had a lot of fun adding lots of details, so I wanted to share it- ovo)/ For those who didn't read it before, I recommend to check the fancomic beforehand, so here's the link :

For the front page, I wanted to draw the abyss with some inspiration of the Steelsoul menu page in-game. I also tried to add a ray of light to look like Hornet is on scene, since the whole comic is based on a song.

Also for the entire comic, Hornet is actually wearing my glasses. I just wanted to give her a little detail from myself and I thought it would be cute!

Here you can notice the fractured mask and the multibinding. I tried to picture most of my tools I used during my fight!

Look it's my friends! :D They actually followed me during this whole Steelsoul journey (and way before, when I beated Pantheon 5 on the previous game!), and they encouraged me when I streamed the final fight to them on discord. So I had to draw and honor them somewhere.

Also, you can notice here that I'm a Hunter crest user! To be fair I used to hate its pogo at my first run, but after trying to speedrun Silksong...I can't explain why, but it finally clicked for me. I even use it for platforming-

Probably the saddest panel of the comic. I'm so sorry my beloved Sherma!!

Also, the entire story shifts from past to present, and I was not sure how to clearly make them apart from each other. I could just use a sepia filter but I found it boring...then I remembered about the red memory. Hornet's flashbacks are litteraly red in-game.

So I colored everything from the past in this deep red color and that's it. I'm really glad it came so good!

So...here's my first Steelsoul death.

I was doing great so far, and I tried to save Sherma at Whiteward. I forgot it was tricky and hard, and I foolishly died trying. T-T

...and I died four times in total- %D

I have to admit, that was kind of a flex at this point...but after four runs lost, I decided to grab Trobbio's red quill. Just because it was the same color as my glasses and because I could. x')

Did I got lost a lot before act 2? Certainly. Did I regret it? Certainly not. %D

I was really proud of this page, with the transitions between each area. That was maybe the most intimidating page to draw, but damn I'm proud of it!

And...yeah. The hunter pogo. I think my past self who hated it so much would be scared of what I have become-

On the 4th page, I simply tried to feature the most hard fights on my run. I actually almost died on Last Judge and Groal because I was so nervous omg- I really liked drawing Last Judge's shadow and the whole panel with Groal!

(I also added Trobbio not because it was hard...but because HE'S MY BABYGIRL I HAD TO DRAW HIM SOMEWHERE-)

I tried to draw the shape of each of their hearts behind them!

Also, the only reason I didn't beat Nyleth (although she's an easier fight than Karmelita) is purely because I'm deeply afraid of Seth-

Again, nothing special here, but let's appreciate the only panel where I drew Grand Mother Silk.

So...here are my four previous deaths! x')

I died once trying to rescue Sherma in Whiteward. My second death was against Widow. My third one is way more embarrassing, since I beat Widow and tried to collect silver bells...only to carelessly die because I didn't pay attention. My fourth death was shortly after the previous one, because I was so infuriated against myself that I came back and died in the crow arena.

After that, I slowed down a bit and took my time to come back, and the rest of my 5th run is history!

Again, let's appreciate the details of this panel. I really like this one!

Also, at some point I realized that if I get fast enough to grab the last percents left for 100%, I could end it at 100% before 30 hours...and since that was the last archievement I didn't get with Steelheart, OF COURSE I HAD TO TRY. %D

Okay, disclaimer : I did NOT have all mementos on my steelsoul run. Even if I'll do it eventually at some point. x)

But just before I streamed my fight on discord for my friends, I tried to relax a bit with the flea festival, and I finally got Seth's memento on my first vanilla save file! That was the last one I didn't have and it took me forever to get it, that was so hard-

Here is my final build!

I admit that I only used pale nails once and the dice didn't activate at all during the fight, but that was a solid build I trusted.

I used every tool at the beginning of the second phase, I was so tensed and nervous at this point!

I also did a garama for good luck-

Little detail I noticed when I rewatched my fight, my focus on Hunter crest was almost always active! I didn't realize I dodged most of her attacks so well, I trained so hard on my vanilla run with nail only that it did all the job- x)

Guys. I think I almost died there.

I was four masks down and healed at the most dangerous time with multibinding. If I pressed the button just a little bit to early or if I healed a bit nearer the ground, Lace would have reached me. Everyone on m'y stream gasped when it happened, myself included, but THANK GOD I DODGED EVERYTHING-

Funfact : it was my last poisoned cogfly who ended the fight!

That page was certainly the most satisfying one to draw : not that much details, but the strong white shapes made all the work.

I literally screamed out of joy and relief here. THAT WAS SO INTENSE-

My brave cogfly followed me until the cutscene, I had to draw him at the end!

Also, an other funfact : on my storyboard for this panel, Lace was supposed to be unconscious on my shoulder, but I changed my mind. I liked the idea that she was surprised to see so much people cheering for Hornet.

I needed to end this fancomic with all my friends, Lace, my last cogfly and my bf on one big panel. That was such a journey, I can't believe I finally did it!

Also, I can't add it because I've reached the 30 pictures limit of this post, but the last panel of the comic is the actual screenshot I took at the end of the game. So...yeah. I actually did Steelheart AND Speed completion on the same Steelsoul run. That was kind of insane xD Now, I'm waiting patiently for Sea and Sorrow to come out...
