jsut saw someone say that joker is ableist for attempting to kill violetta, which, if we had to compare the whole hullabaloo event, he's not the ableist one.

no, im not defending his actions, and yes, i think he shouldnt have done it, but. walk with me for a second

it's not that he attempted to kill her because she was disabled. he attempted to kill her because he believed it was the only way out. he wasnt doing it maliciously, but desperately

who WAS ableist in the hullabaloo event?

he organized everything to "solve" who burnt the circus, but already knew it was joker. he tells joker at the end that he organized everything knowing the route people would take. including leaving drugs where margie could find them, and writing the "play" that triggered joker's psychosis, and dressing up like MARGIES FUCKING ABUSER (that joker killed for her in the circus fire)

joker isn't the ableist one, if we have to point fingers. no, he isn't a good person, but he didn't do anything out of malicious intent or because he hated that violetta was disabled. he did it out of fear and desperation that was used on purpose by mike to get the final result- a confession. the collateral didnt matter to mike- he didn't think about margie and how she'd feel, only that she would help him manipulate joker. he didn't think about violetta outside of quite literally sacrificing her to break joker down and give him a solid reason to question joker. the only character he actually cared about was murro, and even then he disregards murro's experiences with the circus.

stop slandering the clown he did a lot wrong but it wasnt cause he wanted to. mike did all that because he wanted to!!

Lying awake thinking about the differences between Qui-Gon's and Obi-wan's solo fights with Maul. The difference in speed is most obvious but the deadly angles like Maul has to block his BACK against Obi-wan much more often but he still blocks. Then Obi-wan is hanging on for his life and obviously about to make a move. Maul reacts to Obi-wan obviously calculating his next move but he still pauses???? Why???? What made him pause like that leading to him getting cut in half????? They make solid eye contact FOR SO LONG and Maul almost follows his gaze but doesnt and STILL PAUSES TO REACT????

i like to think that its maul recognizing himself in obi. because neither of them had a choice and he knows that (he says as much in the end of clone wars). both of them are still pretty young, about when kids would be in their rebellious stages (considering that they Havent been allowed to be kids). its also when a lot of kids in abusive homes start to realize that its... not okay, whats happening. and we know the sith, we have a pretty good grasp that maul is both incredibly clever and never been doing too hot in his life. so i like to think that pause is him recognising the expression obi is making. its grief for qui-gon, its fear of falling, of death, its the gears in his head turning overtime to survive, to get another hit in, to avenge qui-gon. its a hopeless, painful sort of desperation that i think maul was all too familiar with. but theyre both young, young enough that the childish part of their brains that thinks it should be fair, that its wrong, the part that naively wants to reach out and help, is still there. and i think maul sees obi-wans face, recognizes it, and it stops him. because hes been there, thats a face he knows, and the part of him thats still kind wants to help. if palpatine was there, he’d probably chide maul for letting the jedi cloud his vision. and he sort of does punish him for failing by leaving him to die there. punishment for a brief second of even thinking about being kind

#also a fair amount of i watched too much phantom menace as a kid #and latched on to maul at the ripe age of like. ten.#maybe younger #but theres no way the sith were letting him develop like a normal kid #and in the same strain #he and obi are the same #trained and raise for a cause they might not have believed in if they werent raised for it #its just that obi is good because hes a jedi and a peace keeper #and maul is bad because hes a sith #both are essentially prisoners who were taken to be trained to be a weapon #obi for good and maul for evil #i have emotions all the time about them #and the fact that they are red and blue and the same coin and tropes that continue on forever and ever #and i dont like it cause he fucking died #but i think mauls death was satisfying for him #theres no redemption waiting for him #and he dies in the arm of the only other person who completely and utterly understands him even if neither of them know it #and obi promises him that luke will avenge them #both of them #maul and the dathomir destruction #obi and the jedi order #not all of the jedi killed by palpatine #not even all of the people hurt by both sides #but obi and maul specifically #obi promises maul that luke will avenge them *both*#auuuuuuuuuugh #and to die with that promise i think for maul who was taught that revenge and hate and anger was life #to die with that promise was an apology in its own right #obi apologising for the pain the sith caused #and maul asking obi to forgive the pain the jedi caused

the feeling of knowing youre cared about. god. god. i understand what man thought, creating a god to love them regardless of their faults. i love knowing, even for a moment, that theres someone who cares. and i know that i care about it just as much. i used to think people were joking, that that kind of affection existed only in books and movies. but then i think i made earrings to match bracelets my partner has. we wear rings that mean nothing to you but mean everything to us- mines cheap, walmart. but it has a pink rhombus, and we send each other <> because we arent romantic, but who cares? i love them more than ive ever loved a romantic partner. i dont like wearing rings, i used to want them but hated wearing them- too much stimuli. i messed with them too much. but i wear my pink diamond ring, even if it doesnt match my outfit, because thats the ring i got because i saw it and thought “its perfect”

id be lying if i said it was affection at first sight. we hurt, we worked, we grew and grow any time we can. we go to roblox maps and sit and stare at each other, we replay maps i like and it likes and we talk together and god. i like not-people. i like it when there’s inhumanities about a race thats humanoid. when the snake person has a soft underbelly and inner thighs, but scales on their outside. when their eyes are too big, unblinking, slit and cold. when they dont have the same clothes we do, much more insulated, trapping *any* body heat over letting it escape. when their jaw unhinges, wide, botomless, their throat stretched around their prey. when they have chitin that clacks, joints like dolls, disco-ball eyes that see in infrared, not color. when their blood isnt red. when there’s no body heat to be stolen by a partner. when their mouths clatter together. when they make their clothes out of silk from their neighbors, or weave it themselves. when a merfolk has gills on their ribs and neck, when they have a strange posture because they swim on their belly. when the tail isnt legs wrapped in plastic, but their spine and ribs elongated. when they don’t blink. when they swim in fish ways, slithering like water snakes or arching like dolphins are swishing like sharks. when they use their hands to drag themselves along the ocean floor. when they grow to the size of ravines. when theyre held together by the pressure of the deep, heated against the ocean vents. when the cat-person has the haunches of a cat, the tail for balance, but a human face- flatter, rounder. eyes forward. when their hair stands on end when angry. their faces contorting around hisses. speaking in words we cannot hear, frequencies we arent privy to.
