THE DONNY NOVA BAND: donny novitski • vocals + piano
donny novitski knows this is a lifeline, a once-a-millenium shot.
After a long and kind of unexpected hiatus, I’m back and when I get the chance I need to fix this blog (the design/details/etc)
“Corey’s dedication to his craft puts mine to shame,” Osnes says, noting that Cott learned to play the piano for the part. “He’s always challenging himself and those around him to be better, go deeper, never settle. I seriously have never seen a co-star or cast mate pour themselves into a role and go for it the way Corey did with Donny. It’s utterly inspiring.”
Cott, for one, is inspired by Osnes’s attitude and demeanor and hopes he can absorb an ounce of her genuine nature. “Beyond being one of the most talented people I have ever met, Laura somehow finds a way to stay positive at all times—especially offstage,” he says. “I hope I can snag 5 percent of her positivity as I move on in my career.”
naponacott:Â @lauraosnes is the stunningest stunner that ever stunned.
They came home to a new America.Â
They made the music that inspired the nation.

From Paper Mill to Broadway, congratulations to everyone involved with Bandstand for an incredible run. Thank you to Richard Oberacker, Robert Taylor and Andy Blankenbuehler especially for dedicating yourselves to this project. The story that Bandstand tells is one of passion, determination and faith. It has helped so many people and will continue to help people for years to come. Thank you for reminding us that music can heal people, that it can save lives and that the men and women who risk their lives for our freedom every single day deserve to have their stories told.Â

jnathanhopkins Growing up, I never aimed to be on Broadway. My goal had always been to make a living as a musician, to do well enough to put a couple of kids through college doing what I was born to do. And for a long time I was doing that! I’d carved something out for myself in a notoriously unstable industry, and slowly but surely I was living my life on my terms - playing my instrument, getting paid, and most importantly being myself in front of a crowd. Any recognition on top of that was the cherry on top of a life properly lived. And then Bandstand came along and rocked my perception of what a gig could be. For the first time in a long time I was pushed to my absolute limit. I witnessed pure genius. I saw total dedication to a craft that I couldn’t believe I was a part of again. I watched dancers move me to tears in ways I can’t describe. I heard and played with musicians at the top of their game. I saw people tackle impossible challenges with gusto, and saw the impossible become possible. I saw a lot of pain, a lot of tears, and a LOT of love. I was exhausted, frazzled, beat up, and so, so happy. Bandstand has been, without question, the highlight of my career. Not just because the show shines a bright and necessary light on the veteran experience, not just because it defied the odds and made a mark in the busiest season Broadway’s ever had - but because we were able to build it together. Using all of our collective creative energy, we were able to take an original idea and build it into what it is today. And on top of that, I have lifelong friends, brothers and sisters thanks to this show. No matter what I do next, I’ll bring the drive, passion, clarity, focus, and love that they’ve given me over three remarkable years. Love you all. Ain’t we proud. #bandstandbway #onemoretime
Happy Trails, Bandstand!
Thank you, Corey Cott for your portrayal of Donny Novitski. The passion and dedication that you have put into this show is inspiring. Every performance you give is filled with emotion, heart and honesty, it is incredible to watch and part of what makes Bandstand so moving. Thank you for your part in creating this astounding show and thank you for helping honor the men and women who fight for our freedom.
Welcome Home KILLED YOU GUYS. Like the BIGGEST STANDING OVATION OF THE NIGHT people JUMPED out of their seats.
Laura was crying so hard and Corey left the piano went over to her and they had the longest most beautiful hug and he stuck his fist into the air in triumph.
Literally people would NOT stop clapping.

lauraosnes: What this band means to us is true. Overwhelmingly grateful to have made music, memories, and magic with these guys over the past two years. We’ve laughed and cried; seen us at our best and worst; been with each other thru engagements, marriages, babies, sickness, and loss. Each of your distinctly unique personalities and gifts joined together to make us ONE unshakable team. I am richer, sillier, fuller, and better because of you all.
hi, have you got a full bootleg of corey in newsies? if so is there anyway you could possibly gift it to me? xx
Hey, sorry for the late reply!! I don’t have a bootleg of Corey personally, but I believe I might have some audio somewhere... I can always look for a bootleg for you if you want :)

When a national contest to find America’s next music sensation offers a chance at fame and Hollywood fortune, singer/songwriter Donny Novitski must whip his band of mismatched fellow vets into fighting shape. Teaming up with a beautiful young war widow as their singer, and playing for every voiceless underdog in a world that has left them behind, they will risk everything to redefine the meaning of victory and sing truth to power.
