☣ Health update ☣
Today I woke up feeling very sick and I started experiencing muscle pains, but somebody calmed me down that it may only be a common cold, so I'm getting calmer.
took a train out of new orleans and they shot me full of corona vaccine this is how we like to do it on the quarantine.....can we settle up the score?
When you aren’t here, I never have a fear
So go on, live your life
But I wash my hands every fucking day
⭐ My symptoms ⭐
Probably the last post of today, but I just wanted to seek somebody to tell me what can I have if it isn't only caused by my coronavirus anxiety.
dry cough;
chills, maybe a fever, but I didn't check;
shortness of breath;
headache;
sore throat;
fatigue;
pain in my ribs / lungs;
sometimes a stuffy nose;
sometimes sneezing;
diarrhea happened only ONCE.
Please, help me, I'm scared. The symptoms come from mild to severe, from severe to mild. According to the net it means I have COVID-19 or pneumonia. There are people suspected to have COVID-19 in my town, but only SUSPECTED. I have been to one free town and one infected city. My classmate have been to Germany a month ago.

Hypochondriasis (health anxiety)
Hypochondriasis is not exactly nosophobia. It's an obsessive fear of getting sick. People with hypochondria keep telling themselves they are sick and go to the doctor 7 times more often than an average person, or don't go there at all in fear of getting diagnosed with a deadly illness.
Symptoms
Everyone is sort of scared of cancer or diseases like rabies or mad cow disease, which are 100% deadly. Right now everyone is going crazy because of a coronavirus pandemic. But when it takes over, you can develop hypochondria.
nosophobia;
you experience the symptoms of the diseases you're scared of;
obsessive doctor's appointments or avoiding them because of the fear of getting diagnosed with a deadly illness;
the feeling of being sure you have or will have a serious disease
searching the web for possible diseases.
Causes
The most common cause of hypochondria is thrauma. Like for example you're more likely to develop hypochondria if you or your loved one had a serious disease like cancer, especially if it resulted in their death.
Treatment
If the hypochondria is really severe, it is usually treated with counseling or anxiety medication.
My experience
I am not diagnosed with hypochondria, but I'm almost sure I have it! I'd like to tell you what it made me feel. Recently I was obsessively scared of cancer. And guess what I felt like? I felt like I would rather die in the moment, without pain and without thinking than die at age 80 but from the hands of cancer. I just didn't want to hear the death sentence (cancer is NOT a death sentence, it can be treated), then come through all of the treatment like chemo, lose my hair and throw up every day. Right now I am panicking because I have cold, flu and clearly coronavirus like symptoms. But I learned to laugh at it.

Depression
Depression is one of the most common mental disorders. People talk about it more often than they did twenty years ago, so some teenagers find it aesthetic and seek attention by saying they are depressed. The truth is that most people with depression keep it in because they are scared of being proven wrong or told they're seeking attention.
Feeling depressed =/= being depressed
Teenagers nowadays don't understand one thing. Everyone gets the blues, but FEELING DEPRESSED isn't the same as BEING DEPRESSED. If I ask you "have you ever felt depressed?" you will obviously answer "Yes, I did!". But if I ask you "Have you ever been depressed?" it's not so clear. Also if you are SUSPECTED of being depressed, but the one who suspects it is not doctor Google, but an actual psychiatrist or psychologist, you still can't say that you ARE depressed. You can say "I may have depression" and after you're diagnosed you can say "I have been diagnosed with depression". Mental illness is just the same as every somathic sickness. You may have it and not know it. Just like I don't say "I have COVID-19", but "I'm scared, because I suspect I may have COVID-19".
Symptoms
Main depression symptoms are:
sadness, emptiness;
loss of interests;
pessimism;
low self-esteem;
guilt;
anxiety;
fatigue;
self-agressive behavior (cutting, bruising, burning etc.);
suicidal thoughts and attempts.
Some more uncommon symptoms:
psychosomatic pain in the head, back and stomach.
Causes
Causes of depression are various. It can be dedicated from the other generations (my family is an example) or caused by a thraumatic event, for example death of a loved one or loss of a job. It can also come out of nowhere. Depression is a thing and it can happen to anyone.
Treatment
Depression can be treated with medication or psychotherapy. An example of a depression medication is lithium. As it's very different in each patient you CAN'T take random medication. You have to take what your counselor tells you to take, and if it doesn't work ask them to prescribe you something else. If your counselor keeps telling you that you still have to take the same medication just seek another doctor. Some medicines can cause side effects at first, but they go away. They can make you hallucinate, feel completely numb or sleepy, but you'll feel normal later. Some cases need to be treated in a mental asylum but it's not like in the movies! This is a place with a lot of supportive people just like you and the doctors take good care of you.
What to do when you suspect you may have depression?
Go to the doctor immediately! Speak to someone you trust and if you can't find support in the people around you, you can always talk to me or call the suicide hotline. I will always be there for you. The worst warning signs are self-harm and suicidal thoughts, they leave deadly consequences and lifelong scars.
I think a loved one is struggling. What do I do?
Get them help immediately! Talk to them and take them on a counseling session if you can. Show them, how much you care about them. Spend a lot of time with them as well, offer them your unconditional support.
Have you ever been depressed? You can share your experience in the comment section below!
Personally I have never been depressed, but I was suspected to. Unfortunately I will most likely get it in the future, because my mother, grandma and great-grandmother all had it.
☣ Health update ☣
I am feeling so much better, but I already felt better before and started feeling sick again. I heard that it's the tricks COVID-19 can play on you - the symptoms may go away and come back after a few days. All the sneezing disappeared and it makes me very depressed because it's uncommon for COVID-19 to cause sneezing, and I'm worried that it was just an allergy. Also I feel a bad MUSCLE pain in my back, but I am a little scoliotic so maybe it's nothing to worry about. After all, I must admit that it makes me feel really depressed and anxious. I'm wondering which answer would be better: COVID-19 or pneumonia. After all I am just worried a lot.
Is there anyone who shares my interest in medicine and may know if I should be concerned? Are these the symptoms to the novel coronavirus or is it just a cold or a flu? I may be a little blinded because of how much do we hear about the new disease on the TV. I'd like someone to be objective, not like my hypochondriasis.
But I wouldn't be me if I wouldn't stay positive! So I made a few aesthetic corona wallpapers / lockscreens. The programme in which I made them is called Polish, just like my nationality.
Bye! The next post is probably gonna be about depression or hypochondriasis!
So it's gonna be a health blog now.
My name is Pola, but people usually call me Corona-chan (how ironic!) or Gerardine Way. I'm a 14 year old female (even though I don't fully identify with that gender, mentally I'm genderfluid, but we're talking about physical health, aren't we?). Actually I DO have a secret (hah! no longer) interest in medicine.
Yeah, let's umm... update MY health today!
Well the situation has been very concerning lately, because I feel really sick for about a week. I hadn't checked if I maybe have a fever, because I would probably start panicking because of the pandemic, but I got chills. And the most concerning thing is that I rarely sneeze, but have a dry cough and - well - trouble breathing. I am also really tired and my head and throat hurts. But I am a hypochondriac, so maybe it's just a delusion.
My mother keeps saying I'm fine, but I'm already too scared, but I have a funny personality, so I continue to laugh at myself. I hope it's only my hypochondriasis, because I checked and this is not exactly how a flu or a cold looks like, but almost the same as COVID-19. Unhappily, I love in a small village, but there are people who may have coronavirus in the closest town! As you can guess I am very frightened, but as I am young and I don't have any long lasting illnesses, even if I got coronavirus, I would most likely make it.
Also here are some facts:
1. Wearing masks WON'T protect you from catching the virus, but if you are already infected it may protect the others, but not 100%.
2. The most important part is to WASH YOUR HANDS. Soap and disinfection fluid kill bacteria and viruses.
3. The most microorganisms can be found on the handles, toilets etc. in PUBLIC, especially the hospitals logically.
4. If you feel sick or have been to a place infected with COVID-19 or just suspect you may catch the virus, CALL (not visit) your doctor or the coronavirus hotline and follow the instructions. If you can't, STAY HOME and if you live with someone else WEAR A MASK.
What symptoms to look after?
Main coronavirus symptoms are fever, dry cough and shortness of breath. It also often causes fatigue and muscle aches. In most cases patients experience headaches and sore throat. It can also cause abdominal discomfort and diarrhea. In rare cases it causes vomiting and even bloody cough. Sneezing and runny or stuffy nose are not common symptoms, but they CAN happen. The most common complication of COVID-19 is pneumonia. Some people nearly lost their lungs and had to get a transplant. Happily the death rate is only 3.5% and nearly EVERYONE who dies is in their old age, is an infant or has some other diseases (like asthma, cancer or is after chemo). Remember! More people die of the flu every year, even though the flu infects millions and kills 0.1% or them, it is more common and it makes it more dangerous.
So I think that's all you have to know about the novel coronavirus.
