— The Cat and the Fox
"You would be the most foul with your words. Its embarrassing." Manji mustered out to the best of her ability, shifting up from the fertile soil to her knees, spits at Saigo’s feet.
"What’s more embarrassing is seeing a beast like yourself give up your freedom to be chained to another. Its disgusting than being a mutt, don’t you think?" the fox smirked, thankful for pride wouldn’t be chipped away so easily.
"That’s right, an invalid like yourself should be bedding hell spawns from below instead of doing your time with filthy humans!" At least in this case, the hieroarchy in this situation shows human being higher than the rotten kasha. "So leave!"
Manji's saliva landed just centimeters from Saigo's wooden geta. The cat stayed silent, letting fox speak without interruptions. She did enjoy they was the tiny creature tried so hard to rattle her. Ah, and maybe she was rattled, some of the insults cutting into her, but she felt a strange sense of pleasure about it. Yes, it was fun to bicker with this worthless mutt.
"Are you so curious about what I bed? Maybe you would like to see the oni first hand. I wouldn't lower myself to having such creatures touch me, but a dog like you shouldn't care, hmm?"
— The Cat and the Fox
Unfortunately for Manji, there were instances where fighting off this older piece of trash had major downfalls. She was never rational to fight Saigo’s skill with accurate precision, and due to the fact that Manji was not a fighter for pleasure.
The fox bit back on her bottom lip, feeling the bile rise from her throat but forces it back quickly, roaring out again in frustration as she whirled back to ground, holding her stomach in pain.
"You abomiinable woman." the child bit out, narrowing her dark eyes.
"Better a woman than a dog." Light laughter filled the air, carried off by the winds. "Or should I say mutt?"
Biding her time, Saigo only held onto her katana, watching with shrill amusement as the fix curled into her stomach, more laughter spilling from her full lips. Her thumb rubbed circled into the hilt of her blade.
"Do you really want to embarrass yourself more, flea bitten mongrel? Why not go back to the dirt where you belong."
— The Cat and the Fox
"But to seek comfort without approval in my lands, o stunted growth of a woman,” her fangs grew in size, brows creased from the growing hatred as the woman turned her back. Who did this wretched being think they were? Just because they held privilege to bring corpse back to hell like some spoiled pet looking for praise and treats, it was simply revolting.
"How insolent of you!!” pushing off from her bare feet, the slim yukata flared rapidly in the wind, claws arched and ready to strike down against the kasha’s back.
“You will die by my hands, Saigo!!”
"A demon such as myself asking for your permission? How quaint. You must be sick from eating so much rotten vermin, dog."
Saigo's hands twitched at her side. She could hear the rush of air from the kitsune's leap, the fabric fluttering behind her, all as clear as a bell. She put her hand on the hilt of her katana. Ah, she would go easy on this flea bitten mutt today. So easy was this mangy fox to rile up.
In what seemed to be a blink, Saigo had turned, her dark yukata flowing behind her as she moved on her feet. She drew her katana, still nestled safely in its scabbard, and used the sheathed blade to block the kitsune's deadly claws. She brought the katana back, and lunged forward with it again, intending for the blunt point to ram into the kitsune's gut.
— The Cat and the Fox
It didn’t take much to smell the ass of a mangy cat, and Manji’s tail bristling was proof enough that the scum of the litermarched into her lands without a care.
"Did you think you could enter my lands without permission you pathetic excuse of a demon?"
Scoffing without so much of a care, Manji wipes her long sleeves against her breast, barking nastily at the kasha. “Leave at once.”
"My my, when are you ever going to fix that temper of yours, little fox?" Despite the kitsune's threats, Saigo only smiled, thoroughly enjoying the anger even just her appearance could cause this child.
"Maybe I want to enjoy myself on the country side." Saigo turned, her back against the fox, unafraid. She was confident if the fox tried to attack her she could hold her off.
— The Cat and the Fox
It wasn't very often she came to the blank expansive fields and plains. Saigo liked to spend time in cities or near temples, but sometimes she found coming to these places pleasant.
As she stepped, Saigo shifted from the large black and white cat to a regal woman, arms folded in front of her and tucked into the sleeves of her yukata. The winds blew through the plains, and Saigo lifted her head, catching a familiar scent.
"Ah... so that child is here."
