Hunter was unaware anyone would be coming into his classroom when he had a dead body projected on his wall. He looked up and raised an eyebrow at the newcomer. He glanced at the wall then back at the person before moving aside a jar with a human brain in it. Of course the day he bring up cannibalistic killings someone just waltzed into the classroom.

It was something they had in common even if it wasn’t the same experience but it was nice that there was another person who could understand what it was like. Hunter took the lighter and lit up his cigarette. “Thanks,man.” He said,handing the lighter back when he was done. Hunter took the cigarette from his lips and let the smoke out a moment later. “Nope. Happens on occasion when I get nightmares of shit back in the day.” He shrugged one shoulder. Hunter was sure the subtle hint didn’t go unnoticed. He knew Philip was a law student,again,something he learned from Pearl.Hunter chuckled a little at the joke. “Well I do go huntin in there sometimes but tonight just a walk. Wanna join me? It’s good for clearin yer head when things wanna stick around in there.” Hunter offered,motioning towards the woods.

It had been one of those nights. Seeing and experiencing that torture again.Hunter was woken up by a bad dream and for once he didn’t have Pearl with him. He was tempted to go to her room but he didn’t want to disturb Mel either. So instead he pulled sweats on and a jacket,grabbed his phone and smokes and headed outside.As he was walking towards the woods he spotted a familiar looking face.One that he knew just from walking around campus. The shaking of the man’s hand told him he might be in the same shape as Hunter. Hunter moved closer,cigarette now between his lips.He had a lighter in his pocket but instead approached the young man. “Ya got a light?” He asked him softly,not wanting to startle him.

Hunter knew the couple had a house off campus.Someone had mentioned it to him in case he wanted to get away from everyone. Hell,he had thought of getting a place for him and Pearl even. Hunter wouldn’t be surprised that it was Pearl’s aunt who let Dr.Tomago in on that information.He knew after the shirt incident a lot more people knew but it didn’t worry him too much. Just her family worried him.At least he wasn’t alone in how his relationship started.

Hunter gave her a small smile. “No one’s been hurt. I think yer good.” He said,going to his desk and plucking a few tissues from a tissue box there. He held it out to Dr.Tomago just in case she needed them.Hopefully an Energy Bolt wouldn’t hit him.Hey,at least he got some form of a smile  from her.He guessed he should be proud about that. Hunter smiled when he actually got her to laugh.It seemed his bashfulness was amusing to more than just Pearl. He chuckled a bit and wiped a hand over his face. “I’m uh I’m sure she was.I have yet to really meet ‘em. Pearl’s been teachin me how to sign so I can talk to her uncle.” Hunter said,remembering their first night going at that.Hunter nodded at her answer. He heard Professor King was on the list with Houck and him when it came to teacher being annoyed with and or scaring their students.Hunter wouldn’t ask about those things since it wasn’t really his business on their wedding plans or their child preferences.”Usual’s generally good. Have ya tried any remedies for your cold?” He asked,having a few tricks up his sleeves when it came to being sick.

Hunter knew it was the perfect way to end a day but he had to let her know.He loves her and he felt it was time. She had been patient that or the curiosity just hadn’t been too high since she knew it was difficult for him.Either way she had waited for him to be ready. She loved his scars and he didn’t know how many times she had run the soft pads of her fingers over his skin and even kissed the textured flesh on his back.It had become so normal for them and he adored that the scars didn’t bother her.

Hunter was thankful for the silence. To know she was truly listening and only the small ques telling him she was indeed listening and understanding. How she shifted with him or touched him just to let him know.He knew he was most likely breaking her heart with his story but he had warned her it wasn’t going to be good. Part of him was afraid she’d think him too much,too much baggage and that’s why she’d pull away but deep down he knew he knew Pearl better than that.She wasn’t like that.The comfort from her while he spoke made it easier to get through but the more he went on he could feel the moisture building in his eyes and part of him didn’t want to let it fall even if she had seen him cry after the visit from his family.

He couldn’t see her but he had a feeling she was crying. Crying for him for what he had gone through. As soon as her warm touch appeared on his cheek he shut his eyes and let the tears fall knowing she’d feel it on her hands.Hunter hadn’t even told her all the gritty details. How could he do that? He wouldn’t risk giving her nightmares.Hunter lifted his head and kissed her back,feeling relieved that she still wanted him. He nudged her nose with his own and let out a shaky breath. “I was afraid it’d be too much for ya.” He admitted,”But ya still love me ‘n ya have no idea how happy that makes me.I’m glad ya know now.It was time ya found out.” Hunter listened to her and nodded gently. “I won’t ‘n I never want ya to doubt either.” He murmured,gently rubbing her chest. “I won’t be able to sleep unless I’m piss drunk ‘n right now I don’t wanna be.Coffee’s a good idea.” He answered,giving her a gentle and loving kiss. Hunter felt so much love for her. She took care of him and helped him during these hard times and things wouldn’t change if it was the other way around.He’d be there for her.

When she said it was her turn he became extremely curious.He watched her lay down and moved to lay beside her.He noticed how she didn’t look at him so he gently took her hand and laced their fingers together,giving her hand a gentle squeeze to let her know he was listening.

As soon as she said she stayed with someone who hit her he felt a rage bubble up inside of him.Not at her. Never at her but at the man who dare lay his hands on his Pearl.He gave her hand another squeeze when she stopped talking.He knew what she meant. She didn’t need to say it to let him know she had been carrying and lost it.It made him even angrier at the bastard who hurt her. Hunter turned onto his side and let go of her hand,wrapping his arm around her instead. “It wasn’t your fault. It was his.Believe me if I could make ‘im pay I would. The fightin wasn’t your fault either. Ya went through somethin no one can really understand unless it happened to ‘em.That second chance brought ya to me.” Hunter said,gently squeezing her body and shifting to hold her better. “I will always love ya,Pearl.I promise to love ya no matter what. Never doubt this,My pequino fuego.” He said softly,pressing loving kisses to her head.Hunter gently rubbed her back,letting her take in the comfort of his embrace.In his head he imagined what the child would’ve looked like.Very much like Pearl but it took him a moment to realize the other details of the child were from him and his features so really; he was imagining their child if they ever had one.

It was definitely better that she was sick on campus. Here they all knew about these weird powers where as out there it would definitely be difficult to explain and they didn’t need unwanted attention. Hunter knew that other people knew about him and Pearl.He just had no idea how many. The girls in his class knew since the whole shirt thing which meant,most likely, it spread around to other parts of the school. Hunter generally tried to get all his work done then devote the rest of his time to his girlfriend and being with her. On occasion she did help him which he was always grateful for.

Hunter blinked a few times when the room was gently lit from the light emitting from Dr.Tomago’s hand. He stepped around the chair he had initially walked into. He was glad she kept her hand pointed away from him. He definitely didn’t want to be in the line of fire. “It isn’t your fault.” He waved it off,knowing it truly wasn’t. She didn’t have control over her powers that much at the moment.Hell,he wasn’t exactly sure what his were after all. Hunter laughed a little. “I think I’ll be good but if anything I’ll make sure to have her number at hand.” He laughed. Hunter looked back at his desk which was littered with papers. His cheeks heat up a little at the mention of is girlfriend. This was the first time he had ever really spoken to Dr.Tomago. Any other time it had been quick,just work and they were on their way. “She’s uh...She’s great.” Hunter answered,still blushing. “She likes to help me grade,actually. I knew some people knew about us but I wasn’t aware how far it reached.” He admitted,rubbing his chin. “How’s Professor King?” Hunter asked,aware of the two’s relationship. Well,Pearl had told him at least.
