Karlach blinked, confused by what he was talking about as her arms came back down after her stretch. It was only then did it click what he was referring to. "Hm?" She hummed as she reached up to her horn and felt the ringed sweet breads displayed there. "Ha!" She snickered as she removed them from her horn, brushing the powdered sugar off the slick horn as best as she could, having all four doughnuts in one hand. "Well, at least I've woken up with a smile on my face already." She grinned, raising a brow at his comment.

"Oh, is that right?" She joined in on the teasing flirt, as always. "Gods, you're pretty horn-y first thing in the morning, huh?" Karlach smirked, biting down on one of the doughnuts.

Karlach had spent a month on this quest. It had been arduous and certainly bloody - but it was all worth it for this one little trinket. Something that would give her beloved the one thing he craved. She had set them up on a late night 'picnic'. Though it mostly just alcohol and blood in disguise in a wine bottle. Huddled close to him she took out the ring box. The ring itself didn't look very extravagant other than engravings of a sun on the circumference in an eternal loop. The legendary Ring of Sun Protection. Crafted by a notorious vampire from centuries ago, long since become dust. It granted the vampire attuned to it the ability to walk in the sun for four hours each day. "This is for you," She spoke softly. "So we can have even better days ahead of us. Wear this, and watch the sun come up with me, hm? Today, tomorrow, and every day thereafter."

HE'S TAKEN ABACK by the sentimentality of the gesture - it's not that it's unbecoming of her, but the feeling he's not exactly worthy of it. Astarion, had spent those nights waiting on her return , book in hand. There's no way in hell he would indulge in trancing, with the knowledge she's out there, somewhere perhaps on the line between heaven and hell , fighting.

Naturally. Why else would Astarion be here? The vampire was but a mere pawn, like so many others were in Albert's world. He hummed in amusement, he may have even smiled a little. Arrogant, cocky...

It had been curiosity at first, to have Astarion feed on him. What would Albert's blood do to another who was infected with the Cadau parasite? Apparently his blood was well received, but Wesker didn't think anything else. He was evolved, beyond and better than human. They both were.

Like any scientist, Wesker marvelled at any subject that was better than that of a mortal man. His eyes had watched with intent and interest as Astarion had suckled against his skin. Truth be told, Albert would not have cared if the 'vampire' had burst into a bubbling pool of blood and mess on the floor, but Astarion had not been affected negatively. Lucky for Astarion...

More tests would be run in Albert's side of things, purely because he craved the knowledge and control, but he would also not allow Astarion to overindulge in such a delicacy. He also had no intentions of upsetting Alcina Dimitrescu.

"Your Lady has impeccable timing, it would seem," he stated. He reached for his pair of sleep pants and stepped into them, removing the towel. His chest was still bare and damp, and he patted it gently to dry himself down before rubbing the towel over the back of his neck.

"You must send her my warmest regards when you return. As of yet, I require nothing on her part. Her samples of the Cadau have aided me greatly in my research, but I know who I speak with. You have little interest of anything scientific..." He knew Astarion was not exactly the scientific type.

"And you have travelled far to get here. Sit, make yourself comfortable." Albert's apartment was clean and tidy, minimalistic in nature. Everything had its place and purpose. There was one thing that might have been considered odd, however, and that was the amount of food Albert needed to eat to sustain his heightened metabolism. Even now, he was in the middle of making dinner.

Well. He hadn't reached for the pitchfork or the torch yet, so Astarion's left to assume he wasn't entirely unwelcomed . Was the lie that he still worked under the Lady - she had thrown the ungrateful vampire out of her circle ages ago - it was a wonder he's even made it out alive . If Wesker had only known.. Astarion wouldn't dare think of the consequences. He was in a desperate predicament of needing another protector .

The bite of irony was - to feel like a beggar , walking into the den of another sadist. And the rogue would be damned if he missed an opportunity—always the crook, the liar, the opportunist.

But also..

..what if Wesker held the key, the much coveted cure , for his vampirism ?

His silver haired nod an affirmative he'd silently agreed to follow the other's command .

Astarion was a connoisseur of bodies in all shapes and sizes, and Wesker's physique was more than perfect and appealing to the eye, he noted mentally as he took a seat across the other, skimming the surroundings , before clearing his throat.

❛ I was just wondering, if you had the time to dig into helping my case?, ❛' The vampire then inquired, giving the other another pleasant smile .
