“NO WAY!!” lia squeals as the members walk in with her birthday cake, resembling a deer, with chocolate antlers popping out of its head.

martin is holding a camera zooming it in on her shocked expression.

the space is filled with loud laughter from the boys as they stick candles on top of the cake, lighting the wicks and illuminating the entire room around them.

lia giggles as they place the cake down infront of her, covering her mouth in surprise.

surely they werent gonna smash her face into this cute cake right?

“happy birthday to vylia. happy birthday to—”

the happy moment was quickly cut off by a push of her head, her face colliding with the sweet cake.

before she could even realize what happened, lia lifts up head from the dessert, licking the frosting from her lips as the boys laugh around her. she wipes the chocolate from her eyes, pouting at her members. “really?”

she opens her eyes to see martin running over to her with his camera, panning it over to her cake-covered face and making the device shaking from his laughter. she can’t help but smile from their antics.

juhoon hands her a towel to wipe her face, but not until the rest of them get lots of pics from different angles.

♡ ───── how did seonghyeon feel about a girl joining the group?

“a girl? debuting with us? how the hell is that gonna work?” he complained

“seonghyeon, she’s worked with various groups before. she deserves to debut, we had no choice but to slide her in with you guys.” a manager replied, sighing as he places down paperwork.

“and who exactly is she then?” he crosses her arms, looking at the staff.

“vylia valentine. she’s produced songs for your sunbaenim.”

hyeon furrows his brows, obviously not buying it. “vylia?”

the manager nods, tidying up the stack of papers and sliding them over to seonghyeon to examine for himself, walking out of the room without much word.

⌗ the meeting

he glared at her from across the meeting room. she raised a brow and tried to pay no mind.

“i get it.” he spoke suddenly, breaking the uncomfortable silence. “you’re talented, you’re a good dancer, singer, blah blah blah. but how will we work with one girl in the group? it just doesn’t make sense.”

“seonghyeon it’s not up to us.” james replies, leaning on the wall behind her.

“think about her hate train. think about how much we all will have to go through just to debut.” seonghyeon protests, clearly not understanding the part where james said ‘it’s not up to us.’

“trust me, if there were other options, i’d choose them. they told me that they had no plans to debut any future girl groups. this was my one chance at making a career.” vylia sighs, leaning over the meeting table and resting her chin on her palm.

seonghyeon didn’t seem to say anything after that, but it was evident he had more to say.

soon enough, it was time to debut. they’d worked together on the EP, sure. but the grudge stayed, silently, yet still there. how would public react? would the group survive the 6th member curse?

unpacking her stuff in the dorm room, a voice appears from the door way. “maybe.” vylia jumps a bit at the sudden sound. “maybe i was a little mean when we first met.”

she turns around, putting her mess of clothes down on her bed. “maybe?” she cocks a brow, laughing a bit.

“maybe. just a little harsh.” he returns a smile, making lia’s full laugh come out. “i just don’t want this going down hill.”

vylia scoffs. “we won’t go down hill. do you know who i am?” she says with a proud smirk.

“uh huh. i also know that you’re bite sized.” hyeon countered, smirking back.

her smiles fades, her eyes narrowing with an unamused expression.

“you piss me off.”

⌗ jay’s background : born 05.05.82 to an australian-sudanese family, he’d always been interested in the arts of creating. making music for popular artists like bryson tiller and partynextdoor, and becoming an actor in 2008.

⌗ jay’s opinion / thoughts on vylia’s debut : “i see lia on tv all the time in america and i just think ‘wow.. that’s my daughter! i raised her!’ i can’t ever stop thinking about how far she’s come and how much i love her. i miss her so much and i’ll always be proud of her. i know she’ll have so much fun with cortis.”

⌗ sam’s background : born 10.11.82 to a dominican mother and vietnamese father, but adopted by a french family in america, samy started off by making skits for her family during holidays, turning it into her future acting career. she’s been in the industry since 2000.

⌗ sam’s opinion / thoughts on vylia’s debut : “ever since lili was a little baby shes been into singing and dancing. i never thought her silly cover of september by earth wind and fire would get her this far. she’ll always be my lucky lili and ill never forget all the memories she made in our home and hearts. shes my beautiful daughter with so much skill and talent. im so proud of you lili, never stop being you.”

⌗ kiara’s background : born 06.24.04, kiara had been interested in following her mother’s footsteps and getting on tv. she became a model in 2023 and is studying to become a nurse.

⌗ andre’s background : born 07.05.05, he’d always been focused on studies and sports. trying out all types of different sports in school and studying designing has taken up most of his time.

──── ౨ৎ CORTIS POSTED “holiday break-in” ♡

“shhh! someone’s gonna hear us!”

vylia lets out hushed giggles as they walk through the hall with red bags over their shoulders.

the group gathered into the company’s main area, where a large christmas tree was set up. the presents were placed perfectly and neatly. for now.

all the members emptied their bags, various items spilling out from the fabric.

oh they were going to have a field day with this.

james was asleep in the floor.

keonho was taking pictures of the members.

juhoon was crafting feet out of cardboard.

seonghyeon and martin were making an ornament child.

all while vylia struggled to put clothes on the wired deer decor.

“are you almost done yet?” martin says while turning his head to juhoon, his voice over the holiday music playing in the background. juhoon nods, handing him the cardboard pieces.

keonho trots over to vylia, who’s practically sitting on the deer trying to fit a plastic chain necklace over its neck. her brows are furrowed in focus as he angles the camera at her.

she turns her head at him as the camera’s flash clicks, practically blinding her for a few seconds. “ah! keonho!” he grins as he trots away to taunt the next member.

the company is filled with hushed laughter and the sounds of decor hitting the ground from the weak wrapping of tape and string that kept it together.

juhoon and martin last drops of hot glue to the ornament child, holding it upright as the lights start to dim. keonho rushes as he reaches for the hot glue gun to help its unstable, wobbly leg, but martin slaps his hand away. “there’s no time, it’s already 12!”

keonho carries the makeshift ornament-person to the tree, but its head falls to the ground, shattering. vylia lets out a shriek at the sound of the glass colliding with the floor.

“NO!” keonho cries out, kneeling to the floor as if he was a mother tending to his helpless child, martin soon following suit.

“come on!” james grabs their arms to lift them off the floor, leading them to the doorway.

with one last attempt to stand the ornament upright, it falls once again, that being the last sound to hit the floor. besides the group’s shoes running out off main room, leaving the christmas tree a mess. and colored outside the lines.
