It will be helpful to me if you ask for a particular kind of reading specifically so that I know what it is you’re looking for.
Generally I prefer not to receive much detail prior to a reading. You can give as much context as you like, but I recommend retaining some degree of anonymity by avoiding names and specifics. I can give readings about your current life, a past life you’re curious about, or things to expect in your future. I can also do readings about relationships, broad questions, or concerns you might have!
If you would like your reading to be private rather than published on the blog, let me know in the ask!
Here are some examples of how to request certain readings or ask particular questions:
Single card readings:
“Can I have a single card reading about…”
“this upcoming event in my life?”
“my relationship with X person?”
“where I should go next?”
“X past life?”
Questions and requests for readings can be just about anything! For the most part I suggest using placeholders rather than names of people or places - I don’t need those details. Whatever context you provide surrounding your question is up to you and your level of comfort, though!
Three card reading:
“Could I get a three card reading about…”
“the different stages of X past life?”
“my past, present, and future?”
“how X past life relates to my current life?”
“my relationship with X person?”
“my love life?”
“my mind, body, and spirit?”
“three different paths before me?”
This kind of spread can be used for essentially any three part question! If you’re looking for a particular set of information, just let me know what you hope to get from the reading.
Advice from the moon:
“Can I have some advice from the moon?”
Be as specific or as vague as you’d like about what advice you’re seeking. You could leave it as plain as above - looking for something totally general - or you could specify that you want advice about a part of your life, a decision you’re trying to make, a situation you’re truing to navigate, etc. This one can be very broad!
I am looking at the potential for offering certain spreads at some point in the future, but I would worry about getting way behind if s lot of people requested them since they’re much more involved.
Thank you for stopping by! I hope I can provide some helpful insight for you here ✨💜
Here’s a three card past life reading for myself as an example of what to expect for the three card reading!
“Past”/Early Life: The Page of Swords
The Page of Swords is curious. This past life yearned for knowledge, was full of new ideas. Especially as a child, it seems, this past self wanted to explore and discover. I find it interesting that even the art on the card looks young here. This is very definitely referring to a childhood state of being. I think it would be apt to say that this past self was a precocious child.
“Present”/Mid-Life: 5 of Cups (Reversed)
Cups are about emotion and relationships. The 5 of Cups is usually a rather negative figure, but in the reversed position we see something else. Rather than having a youth leading into adulthood colored by regret, we see a history of personal setbacks that did not keep this past self from success. This was a period of time for self-forgiveness and moving on. I interpret this as meaning that this past self struggled a lot internally and held themself back because of it.
“Future”/Late Life: 4 of Cups (Reversed)
Being so close to the previous card is very interesting. Whenever I see a common suit coming up, I take it to mean that what the suit represents is very important for what the cards are trying to convey. Water, emotion, and relationships were all very big in this past life. The 4 specifically (when reversed) suggests a degree of withdrawal. There was a retreat into the self later in life, but in a way that was for inner reflection. There was a need to check in with the Self. Perhaps this past self felt lost after some time and needed to be reminded of what was important. Of who they were.
Thank you for checking out this little example! I may use this blog as a bit of a journal for myself as well, keeping record of readings I do for myself so that I can reference them later.
Sunday morning single card reading for myself! With a bonus oracle card for clarity.
3 of Pentacles
Pentacles are about the material. This suit can be about your physical body, but it is also often representative of money. Some tarot refer to this suit as Coins or something similar. Since the pentacles are tied to the element of earth, they are grounded and urge you to use common sense.
The 3 of Pentacles refers to teamwork and collaboration. This cards tells me to learn from and work with the people around me. I never stop learning from the world, nor do I intend to. There is always something more to understand.
The Porcupine and Anemone: boundaries
The porcupine is a symbol of self-defense. Similarly, the anemone flower closes itself inward and down to protect itself during rainstorms.
“You cannot help others unless you first help yourself.”
(I have a long history of being called out by my cards when I read for myself. We’ve just started this blog and they’re already putting me on blast.)
The oracle deck clarifies what the pentacles are trying to tell me. It is important to work together with the people around me - particularly those closest to me. No man is an island and we will only get through this by doing so together. However, helping each other and taking care of each other does not exclude me. I also deserve to be cared for in the way I provide care to others.
It’s a reminder I need to be given periodically.
Take care of yourselves out there as well. By helping ourselves we can better help others around us.
Hi i am KF,can i get an advice from moon regarding if i should change my schools?
Thank you 🫶
Card 1: The Queen of Swords
“What do you seek from the moon?”
Swords are representative of your state of mind. They urge you to make a plan or to let go of worry. The Queen is an independent figure. She represents unbiased judgement and direct communication.
In the context of her placement here, she acknowledges that you are looking for advice that is straightforward. The cards acknowledge what you’re seeking.
Card 2: The Moon (Reversed)
“Where does she stand on the issue?”
The Moon generally represents intuition. Your subconscious communicates well with her.
In the reversed position here, she indicates that there is perhaps some internal confusion or conflict. The Moon is communicating similarly to the Swords - you should let go of some of your worries. You might be feeling anxious or otherwise trying to repress some emotions. You should release your fear and listen to your own intuition.
Card 3: The Queen of Wands
“What advice does she give?”
The suit of Wands is about action and the spirit. They tells us to move, to act now, the time is right.
The Queen here is all about confidence and, much like our previous queen, independence. The Moon is suggesting that you trust yourself and your instincts more. You need to have courage! You know what will be right for you, but you are second guessing yourself. You have good instincts - it’s alright to listen to your gut.
It is also worth noting that the Queen of Wands is very social! Perhaps part of the answer is to put yourself out there more, meet like minds and people who you can trust to help guide you right.
I hope this helps! Feel free to submit another ask if you want to ask clarifying questions or anything!
You can call me Byrd or Byrdie!! I’m starting to rediscover my spirituality a bit and I’ve found that it’s very fulfilling for me to do divinatory readings for other people. It helps me keep in practice and keep in touch with this part of my life!
So here’s essentially how this blog works ✨✨
In the ask box, you can request a reading! As I’m just getting back into the practice of these askbox readings, I will stick to some pretty simple kinds of requests. Please see the pinned post for details on how to most effectively make a request!
Single card reading:
A single card reading is brief, to the point, and can be pretty vague depending on how complex the question is. I will interpret what I can with the context clues I am given, which will hopefully resonate with you in a suitable way that you can find the information you’re looking for.
Three card reading:
This is the most classic form of tarot reading. Generally, the three cards are meant to represent past, present, and future. If there isn’t a specific question to be asked, I will generally go with the classic past, present, future reading. If there is something more particular that you are looking for, I will set a different intention for these cards that will better guide the interpretation of them.
Advice from the Moon:
This is a personal spread I’ve used for a little while now. The Moon often has great wisdom to offer, so I will occasionally petition her for a little bit of guidance. After I shuffle, I find the Moon in the deck and take her and the cards on either side of her to get clarity for the question I’m asking, what her feelings are, and what advice she has to offer.
Pendulum and Oracle cards:
If I feel it is appropriate or that something is a little too muddy, I might turn to other divination in conjunction with the tarot for clarification. Pendulum can answer simple follow up questions whereas the oracle deck can provide a little more detail or context to the interpretations.
I hope that I can provide a little bit of guidance to people by doing this. I really enjoy divination and I feel I’ve neglected the practice for a bit too long.
