Hallandren and Bisexuality Headcanon

Culturally, in Hallandren, they don’t really care about your sexuality but if you were to take a census bisexuals/biromantics and pansexuals/panromantics would be the largest demographic. When your culture is heavily influenced by aesthetics and your gods are idealised versions of beauty everyone is just a little bit attracted to all genders or some combination thereof.

Headcanon: everyone is bi or pan. Literally. Everyone. Even characters that have no canon basis for people to think they're bi/pan. Hell, they're the most bi/pan. No one is free from the bipocalypse

October Challenge: Bisexual Representation

If you haven't heard the news, Brandon has confirmed Shallan is bisexual!

In honor of this momentous occassion for representation it's time to break out the bisexual and pansexual cosmere headcanons! We don't care if it's art, if it's fanfic, if it's a detailed list of evidence or if it's just your headcanon. Start discussions as to how bi/pansexuality fits into different cosmere worlds and cultures.

Only that he had changed, and Marsh hoped, for the better. Another part of Marsh, however, sincerely wanted to punch him. Kelsier deserved it.

Sanguine

happy birthday 2 me have some kinda self-indulgent angstish fic that only kinda fits the theme for this months cosmere challenge but whatevs

summary:

He can’t escape the battlefield. He doesn’t know how. Storms, he’s sick of watch people die.

(Renarin doesn’t know how to control his visions. Being a Radiant is frightening, he never asked for this, and he certainly never wanted to know the deepest, darkest secrets of people who haven’t confided them in him. And Adolin… oh, Adolin just wants to help.)

Sometimes, Renarin wishes there was more of a pattern to the visions.

Not the timing—they’re usually consistent in that, coming during highstorms much like his father’s had.  He’s grateful that he gets that much at least, that he has some warning before he collapses. Or—well—at least some of the time that’s how it goes.  Sometimes he doesn’t lose control of his body entirely, and then he cries out and half-sees reality in the vision and comes out of it even more lost and exhausted than otherwise.  

Glys says he can eventually learn to control them, to go into trances rather than to suddenly wind up on the floor, but that’s taking time.  He’s fairly confident, as confident as he gets, that one day he’ll be able to.  Maybe not any day soon; right now he’s little more than a bumbling wreck that messes up more than he fixes, but someday.  Hopefully.  But it’s not the timing of the visions that bothers him most.

September Challenge: Only Rainbows After Rain (Sibling Edition)

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand we’re back. 

It’s time to bring out the fluff, comfort and cuteness while celebrating the great (and sometimes deeply conflicted and complicated) cosmere sibling relationships! Take all the awful things and fix them. Take all the wrong things, and make them right, even if it’s just for a small isolated moment in time. Understanding can be achieved. There might be bumps in the road, but happiness can be found; the sun is shining and the storm will pass. Everyone can live and nothing has to hurt, if only for September. 

Yes. Even Tien is alive.

Slipping Through Her Fingers

Fandom: Cosmere - Mistborn Era 2 Rating: PG PoV: Lessie Ladrian, past tense, 3rd person Warnings: Spoilers through Bands of Mourning!, canonical character death, guns, descriptions of violence Words: 1,808

Lessie met Wax’s eyes.

They both knew what to do in this situation. Last time, he’d been the one captured. People always tried to use them against each other. In Lessie’s opinion, that wasn’t a disadvantage. She’d have explained that if Tan hadn’t known the two of them were a couple, he’d have killed her right off. Instead, he’d kidnapped her. That gave them a chance to get out.

Wax sighted down the barrel of his Sterrion.

Lessie was calm, far calmer than most people would be in this scenario.

Her husband had a gun trained on a point perilously close to her head. Warm blood trickled down her leg and arm where Tan had shot her, soaking her clothes, but she stood steady enough. The sharp cold of Bloody Tan’s garrote was a gruesome reminder of what would happen if she moved, pressed against her throat like a necklace clasped far too tight.

A small part of her was annoyed. Getting shot was sloppy. Getting shot twice was just reckless. Still, she’d wanted to be the one to take Tan down. When she’d stumbled upon his lair, she’d blessed her luck. Now she was sure she’d get an earful from Wax about how dangerous it had been for her to rush in on her own like that, though they both knew he’d have done the same thing if he’d found Tan first.

Still, he worried for her, and that was what mattered. She loved him for it. She trusted him implicitly.

She trusted him with her life.

summary:

“I guess you’ve never really had to worry about a little brother getting in over his head, huh,” Adolin mutters.

Kaladin actually laughs out loud.

Tomorrow.

Tomorrow, Kaladin leaves Urithiru to travel to Hearthstone.  Tomorrow, he’ll have to think about what he wants to say when he gets back and talks to his parents for the first time in four years.  For the first time since…

He takes a deep breath and blows it out.  Thinking about the worst day of his life is not exactly what he wants to do right before going to sleep.

“So,” Syl says.  She twirls into the form of silvery leaves blowing about his head for a moment before settling into her usual girl-form and sitting cross-legged in thin air.  “I finally get to meet your family, huh?”

HAPPY THIRD CFSWF! 

CFSWF stands for Cosmere Fandom Still Worst Fandom, a play on our fandom tag. This challenge is all about making people cry and weep and have too many sad feelings. This is the month we kill our darlings, or kill our darlings’ darlings, or make them miserable. This is about the angst and the hurt without the comfort. For this one month we are all the Fandom Monster. 

So what can you do to contribute to CFSWF? Write some sadfic, draw some tragedies, find and post all those quotes that make you tear up whenever you think about them. Put your favorite characters through some trauma - or remind us of the trauma they’ve already gone through. Share your terrible end-game theories, your heart-wrenching playlists, your awful AUs and the fridge horror headcanons. And if you don’t think you can contribute make sure to tip your Fandom Monsters with some good reactions in the tags when you reblog, they live off your tears.

As a final more serious note, please remember to tag your warnings appropriately. It may be CFSWF but you have to tag triggers. Be respectful. This is still about having fun, don’t ruin it for people.

Summary: Lady Steris Harms has become accustomed to subdued celebration.

The morning broke bright and cool over the rooftops of Elendel, bathing every building in its cloudless light. It peeked in at the curtains, threading thin fingers through dense fabric to signal the start of the day. From her bed, Steris watched the light filter, contemplating. She stayed ensconced in the warmth of the bed for a few moments longer than usual, feeling the crispness of the air, letting the thin tendrils of light that broke through the curtains spill over her arms and face. It was a strange feeling, this early morning hush.
