commong misconception but ultimately untrue. what edgeworth has going on is an incredibly straightforward combination of daddy issues, autism, strict upbringing, and poorly repressed homosexuality. robust, yes, but not complicated. whatever the fuck makes phoenix act like that is an issue that the subject's top scholars are still debating today. nothing so easily summarized.

a lot of the creative writing classes i’ve been in at this point have placed an emphasis on cleanly formatted drafts which means no typos, no punctuation or capitalization issues, properly formatted dialogue, etc. also double spaced tnr 12pt but this is decidedly less relevant in a fanfic sphere. so i know i probably have a lower tolerance for that kind of stuff than other people might, and this is fine. this doesn’t mean it doesn’t piss me off though -_-

i opened up a fic and my first instinct was “wow he absolutely would not fucking say that” and so i left. but i went back because the premise was just too enticing and as i was reading i went wait. i think he maybe would say that. but the way the author placed commas in the sentences changed the way it was scanning in my head enough that it seemed way more out of character than it actually was. wild stuff
