I hate that I don’t feel comfortable going hiking unless I have a man with me.

It’s not even just the possibility of being raped, kidnapped, or murdered (which are obviously concerns of mine), it’s also the high probability that I’ll be sexually harassed.

I am never peaceful in the woods on trails when alone, even if I have my dog with me… my dog who viciously barks at any stranger outside of our door and would absolutely without question protect me if needed. I don’t know how to not be when the only time I’ve worked up the nerve to go hiking by myself, on a really popular and well-traveled trail, I was sexually harassed by a group of 5-6 men in their 30s. I won’t go into detail about what they said and did but I will say they made me fear for my safety. I don’t know how to not be afraid to be a woman alone on trails when so often I read stories about women attacked/murdered on trails (EVEN LOCALLY).

Maybe I just need to get a gun and a sweet but vicious when needed Pit bull.

No, but really, I’m fucking horrified to hike alone.

Which means I only get to hike when my partner is able to come with me.

File under shit that dudes never have to worry/even think about.

I went to the emergency room tonight. It started with my ears ringing (which they do ALL the TIME and anyone who knows me really well knows I have a long history of ear problems and partial deafness on my left side) And was followed by heart palpitations and me feeling like I couldn’t breathe or stand up. I sat in my boss’s office today trying to get myself together for my shift. The last time this happened, the ringing was so bad that I couldn’t hear anything at all before my vision went too. This time I could still hear and this time I didn’t pass out but everything went black and my boss and my roommate had to walk me out the back door and to my car with me unable to feel my feet or my hands or see. The ER nurses hooked me up and got me to breathe until my hands and feet weren’t pins and needles anymore and eventually my ears stopped ringing and pretty much all I got from the visit was that my potassium was a little low and I got sent home with some literature about anxiety and hyperventilation. My uncle has Meniere’s and he wondered if I could have it too so I’m making an appointment for later this week.

If net neutrality dies we aren’t getting it back. I just hope you guys know that. This government never fixes it’s mistakes until decades later if at all, and especially under Trump, they won’t ever fix their mistakes.

The BEST thing you can do is to call your members of Congress at 202-224-3121. Call three times, because you have two senators and one House representative.

Congress has oversight over the FCC, and they have stopped their votes before. Its vital you call them now, go to their local offices now (chances are there is one right next to you), and pressure them to take action. To actually go over there and stop them. To bring up all the lies the FCC is saying about net neutrality, about how they’re ignoring the lawsuit against them. WE ONLY HAVE 6 DAYS!!.

Wait do people NOT all 100% realize this?

Any lightening or loosening to corporate regulation, any change in law that gives them more freedom to do things their way and make more money, is historically permanent. It gets treated as the new precedent and standard and therefore unfair to take away ever again.
