Got Love?

Hey y’all , Happy Easter!!!!! Its been a while since my last rant because I kind of been in a good and clear headspace. But I have a question for whoever see this, Do you feel like you are worthy of love ? not just the reciprocation of love but true self love for yourself. do you let your traumas halt you from giving yourself the nutrients of just the self acts of love. Baby these are my words to you..... Don’t let that get to your head live life and experience that self love even give that girl or boy a chance to show you their love language. Don’t cut yourself off to something that gives you a euphoria that makes you feel like the only star in the universe. So Goodnight drink some water And don't forget to love hard or else you'll regret that that lonely palace you created for your heart❤💕- Pika

Being Real

As I type this up I’m listening to Jharrel Jerome-For real and a light bulb ding above my head in a cartoonish way. In this world of dealing with today’s Social media  are we even true to our selves? Do we do the things for attention, Personal gain, Or to put on a show to entertain those that we don’t even know from a can of paint. Being lost in the sauce is a true identity crisis as we lose a slip of reality piece by piece. We let followers and the tap of a red heart depict what we are worth or how interesting our lives really are. I’m not gonna be a hypocrite  and say “oh social media is just plain wrong” because yes Instagram and Facebook can be my confidence booster. But does it try to shape unrealistic expectations for as humans.... yes. Social media will take the phase “I’m mortal” and slide them both together and  remove the apostrophe to create Immortal.  The unrealistic expectations and being scrutinized under a magnifying glass doesn’t make you feel human it kinda makes you feel like a science experiment being probed at by spectators..................

In many cultures, ethnic groups, and nations around the world, hair is considered a source of power and prestige. African people brought these traditions and beliefs to the Americas and passed them down through the generations.

In my mother’s family (Black Americans from rural South Carolina) the women don’t cut their hair off unless absolutely necessary (i.e damage or routine trimming). Long hair is considered a symbol of beauty and power; my mother often told me that our hair holds our strength and power. Though my mother’s family has been American born for several generations, it is fascinating to see the beliefs and traditions of our African ancestors passed down. We are emotionally and spiritually attached to our hair, cutting it only with the knowledge that we are starting completely clean and removing stagnant energy.

Couple this with the forced removal and covering of our hair from the times of slavery and onward, and you can see why so many Black women and men alike take such pride and care in their natural hair and love to adorn our heads with wigs, weaves, braids, twists, accessories, and sharp designs.

Hair is not just hair in African diaspora cultures, and this is why the appropriation and stigma surrounding our hair is so harmful.

Love In 2021?

Being a Generation Z... is something

The generation that lacks love and compassion, willing and ready to mess over the next person to get to the next goal in life. But they have a hopeless romantic scenario of love implanted in they brain as something they want. Don’t have a lick of love or care in their hearts but the crave for it.... is like crack. I thought in a relationship you care for that person but in this generation we’re in a competition of who can care the least showing no actual emotion. The pain we inflict on to one another we don't feel accountability for it not even being inclined to apologize for our wrong doings. Everyone has an opinion for someone else relationship  whether its your boyfriend’s homies or your girlfriend’s sisters bringing up every flaw about your significant other. we expect perfection that we know we are never going to get  dealing with social media it fills our heads like helium to a balloon. nothing is ever good enough for us  we fail to realize that relationships are balanced with 50/50. I will never understand this generation …   Pure hearts are rare to find.... -pika

Why would I Create a Tumblr now ?

Lord…. am I just having a nostalgic feeling just even creating this page. The last time I remember coming here I was rummaging to find mindless behavior and one direction Imagines or fanfictions. Ugh it was weird being a pubescent pre-teen with raging hormones. But now I don’t even know why I am here to began with now being a twenty year old with a taste of the sweet and sours of the real world. Maybe I just want a room somewhere in the internet and what best way to do than on tumblr. So I created Cosmicpika’s Room this is a safe haven for me to disconnect from reality for a quick minute. Just ranting, Sharing some of my favorite music, and having Chill corner convos. we’re still in the middle of a pandemic so now is the best time to do this without pulling out my damn curls from anxiety and boredom.
