「 ★ 」 ⋮ Ｗ Ｅ Ｒ Ｅ Ｔ Ｉ Ｇ Ｅ Ｒ． ⋮ ━━ He cared about the Agency. He’d lay his life down and HAS laid down his life for the Agency multiple times. Protecting Yokohama’s peace and protecting his family were his goals and dedications in life. But … NO ONE could deny that the offices could get a little WILD sometimes. Especially with Dazai - san’s ANTICS and Kunikida - san’s screaming.
In the very LEAST, the office seemed to have settled down. Even better, he’d managed to actually get his work done DESPITE the interruptions. But … JUST in case, he’d decided to stay close by … juuuust in case. He had a feeling he might be called back in again.
A semblance of peace was found as he sat in the cafe just below the offices. The boy sat within one of the booths, sipping on a cup of coffee all to himself. He could FINALLY hear himself think.
But … this cafe WASN’T the Agency’s cafe. Even if was right below the offices, this was still a public cafe that anyone could go about as they pleased. Not that he minded at all … but he WASN’T expecting a woman to just sit across from him.
’ Oh ! No, not at all ! You’re more than welcome to ! ’
A smile stretches across his face, clearly genuine in his words. This lady was from America, huh ? His LAST experience with Americans was … interesting to say the least. But Lucy was pretty sweet ( when she wanted to be. ) and Poe was nice to have around.
’ It’s great to meet you, Neff - san ! I’m Atsushi ! What brings you here to this cafe ? Going out and meeting new people ? ’
’ I’d introduce you to my friends but they’re … a bit busy right now. ’
My my what lovely energy this young man had! Friendly, respectable, approachable, it’s no wonder Akutagawa absolutely hated him. Of course the new Dazai would take so kindly to someone with as much potential as him. The old Dazai? Maybe not so much. But people change, and if anything Dazai could learn at lot from Atsushi.
“Sure am! I figure if I want things to change I actually have to make that effort, you know? People who are unhappy with their lives often wonder what’s the point of trying to do anything....but it’s what starts that change to better things. We can’t expect things to happen if we don’t give them a chance to. It’s up to us to take control of our lives and what happens in it when we can. Ah, listen to me, I sound like a wise old woman giving advice! Don’t worry about your friends, just meeting you is more than enough. You seem like a very interesting young man.”
Aside from the fact that Dazai knowing she was here would get her seriously busted, meeting all of the ADA would be....an interesting experience to say the least.
“You seem quite young to be alone in a place like this. No boyfriend or girlfriend?”
