Was he even human? An odd question conjuring up in her mind as she literally watched while the man brushed the coffee off as if it was nothing. Weird for sure, but Jess had a feeling from the moment she stepped into Everly that there were others even much more different than she was herself. Most kept to themselves about their lives or powers if they had any and she was all for doing the same. She skimmed her eyes over the features of the other. Wondering if she knew him from anywhere else. Nothing rang in the tired mind of her, but that didn’t completely rule the thought out. Her ears fluttered a bit at his words, even a small chuckle released from her lips. “Oh, I’m sure I would remember that and the coffee would be the last thing you would have to worry about if so,” she joked with a shrug, but still had plenty of energy in her tone. “That would be me chasing you down and never letting you hear the end of it–can you tell it’s happened before?” She met his oceanic orbs with her deep brown ones. “Nothing you did or said at all. I just put salt in my coffee like an idiot and…my anger is apparently uncontrollable at times. Oh, well I’m Jessica..and I’ve only been here a few months. Unless you’ve lived in New York or London at some point then maybe you would know me. And you are?”
“Wow, okay, making note never to stand you up. Or go out with you because you might just kill me out of... reasons?” he asked with a shrug, a grin plastered over his face which said she had a lot of power over that ‘pretend’ relationship he was making up. He laughed along with her. “I can’t see that happening really often, though, right? I mean, if someone goes out with someone like you, they’re going to be sure and follow through and not get the earful of ‘how dare you’...” He unbuttoned his shirt and it parted, the tee shirt underneath clinging tightly to his flesh as two fingers gently pinched and pulled the material away from his skin. “Salt? Oh wow. I guess it’s a miracle you didn’t spit on me then? Not that there aren’t people into that, mind you,” he half laughed. He was nothing if not open. “I’m Ike, hey, nice to meet you...” he smiled, blue eyes meeting hers. “Fancy way to bump into someone, Jessica, though I guess if you knocked me over on the way out, that might be a bigger story to tell people.”
