Cosplay Posing Reference Sheets
-*WJS Cosplay Photography Blog*-
I made a short post with samples of sketches/studies that cosplayers can use for posing references. I save sketches like these onto my phone to use on shoots when I want to show them a pose and for whatever reason I can’t demonstrate it for them. Sometimes I even take a look during a shoot for inspiration and modify them for whatever fits. If you save these onto your phone for yourself as a cosplayer, I wouldn’t try to memorize them outside of one or two. Mimicking can be very useful but getting too attached and thinking these are the “right” way to hit these poses are counterproductive. Have fun with them and see how you naturally end up coming up with your own unique poses!

And of course, you can also take inspiration from your anime series or a similar series.
Yep, I even save kpop girlbands to my phone because the poses are really useful on the set sometimes. Hope these helped! If you liked this post, click here for an article on posing tips for cosplay photos.

So if you’re anything like me, you spend more time looking at sewing tutorials than doing actual tutorials, and it’s led to quite a backlog of bookmarked how-tos. Figured I’d compile some of them together, see if anyone can get some use out of them! And…yes, this is only part one. I’ve got another one on the way (this is just how much of a packrat I am).
Italicized links are projects that use only a yard or less of fabric; Starred links are really simple projects, good for beginners.

PUFF SLEEVE TUTORIAL FOR COSPLAY AND PERIOD DRESS!
Hey! There’s a lot of disjointed info out there about making puffy sleeves, and I thought it might be helpful to gather (ha) everything I’ve learned/found online in one place. Puff sleeves, more accurately known as “leg o’ mutton sleeves,” were popular between 1890 and 1906, and they’re a pretty common feature in fancy/ball gown costumes.
Under the readmore: how to draft & sew puff sleeves and tips and tricks for maximum puff! Featuring really shitty pencil-on-Post-It diagrams by me!
Many thanks to all the people whose brains I’ve picked about this, as well as all the Internet resources I’ve trawled to make this possible.

How I made my Marinette purse/side bag - part 1
Sorry I forgot to bring the “M” sticker… :’-( Btw, it’s much easier to make this bag than I thought XD I’m so happy making it! (even I slept very less before the photo-shooting day😅)

I’m super excited because there is little left to finish 100% of my Zelda Cosplay!!! 😍 Today I’ll show you Zelda’s lateral belt! This was really absurdly hard to make!!!! I had to study all the angles from Zelda, and it was really hard to find moments where she was not holding the pad (Sheikah Slate) on her belt!!!
I’ll share a little more things about this Zelda, like the boots, the wig and the Sheikah Slate (I’ll make two live, one to paint the Sheika Slate and another one to make the lace front!) I’ll let everything else as a secret to make a big surprise with my photoshoot! I’m already choosing the location for the shoot with my friend and photographer, C. Souza Fotografia, and soon we will settle the date!!! 😊
I hope you guys like this piece from today, and if you do, please, let a comment, give your like, and share it! 😉 If you have questions about the costume of my Zelda BotW, ask here! ^^ You can tell everything in English I will answer you! 💖 _________________________________ PLEASE, DONT COPY OR POST THIS PICTURE WITHOUT MY PERMISSION!!! 🥊😤 - Follow me guys! ♥ Facebook | Instagram | YouTube | DeviantArt|
Sorry for vanishing for two weeks!!! You can imagine the reason… YESSSS!!! ZELDA BREATH OF THE HOLY WILDDD!!!
This game is just amazing and incredible! The best game ever!! I never felt this way with any other game in my entire existence! I could spend hours talking about it but lets get back to the topic! XD
I had to stop playing a few times to work on my Zelda cosplay and I’m here today to show you Zelda’s Pouch and her yellow belts that I finished today! 😚
I made a few adjustments and I increased the thickness of the bag to be able to carry some things like my cellphone, wallet, makeup, etc! This is my firs time making a bag and using Synthetic Leather, so I’m really satisfied with the result!!
I hope you guys like it and soon I’ll bring some more progress!! 😊 💙 If you have questions about the costume of my Zelda BotW, ask here! ^^ You can tell everything in English I will answer you! 💖 ______________________________ PLEASE, DONT COPY OR POST THIS PICTURE WITHOUT MY PERMISSION!!! 🥊😤 - Follow me guys! ♥ Facebook | Instagram | YouTube | DeviantArt|

HEY COSPLAYERS AND SIMILAR!
I’M SORRY FOR YELLING, BUT CHECK THIS OUT
IT’S A BIG-ASS LIST OF PATTERNS FOR VARIOUS TYPES OF ARMOR RIGHT BEHIND THIS FRIENDLY AND CLICKABLE LINK.
It’s not completely comprehensive, and they’re all made with actual metal in mind, but I’m pretty sure they’d work just as well with thermoplastics or foam if that’s what you’re working with.
I was looking for references and tripped over it, so I figured I’d share.
other people have probably shared it too but OH WELL
@andsewingishalfthebattle you have a much bigger follower base than I do
This is a great resource! Thanks for sharing.
Finally got around to digitizing and cleaning up the pattern I’ve been using for my Breath of the Wild bracers, figured I’d toss it up for free to anyone interested in trying their hand at it. :)
Finished leather version available at my shop.
BotW Link Cosplay: The Bracer
It’s worbla time! That’s right, I decided to make Link’s bracer out of worbla. I wasn’t originally planning to due to budget issues, but Arda wigs suddenly stocked new sheets of black worbla, including size small, so I could afford to buy a sheet. This was my first time using the material, and I was excited. Overall, it was a total blast! Here’s what I did:

Since I’ve been sharing links to Atlus’s cosplay contest, I figured I should also share other shots from the shoot that I did not use for the contest.
