Reasoning: "Her entire purpose is to make another girl(Satomi) happy, and she was created specifically to keep Satomi company and be her friend. Near the end of the movie we find out that her AI was designed by Satomi’s childhood friend who also had a crush on her and was motivated to make her happy so that’s a double bonus. She also has a lot of close and intimate ship tease moments with Satomi such as when Satomi sits on top of her in the bed when the evil AI scientists are trying to erase her database and later when she asks if Shion is happy, Shion wipes her tears and says that she is happy because she got to spend time with Satomi and they even nuzzle noses! Awww! And not to mention that Shion infiltrated the entire internet and every camera and computer in the country so that she could follow Satomi around and stalk her wherever she goes, all for the sake of checking up on her and making sure that she is happy and just observing her, considering that her feelings were literally made from a guy’s romantic feelings for Satomi it’s hard not to read her own feelings for Satomi as romantic as well. She is literally a manic pixie dream girl for Satomi, there is no way that she isn’t a lesbian, especially since she shows no romantic attraction to the one guy who actually is shown to be attracted to her(although she does agree to “go out” with him, she is very naïve and oblivious to human idioms and thus thinks that he simply means to “go outside”). And while she does try to kiss Gocchan, it’s only to see if he is really a prince, so that she can use him to make Satomi happy. Wow, idk about you, but I’m starting to notice a pattern here. And in the beginning of the movie, when she first meets Satomi in her android form, she gets super excited and her eyes light up, and she marches over to her and asks “Satomi, please, tell me, are you happy now?” And then immediately after breaks into song. It is ultimately Satomi, though, who helps Shion to discover what true happiness is. If that’s not true love, then I don’t know what is, but that sounds pretty damn lesbian to me. Sorry, I don’t make the rules, I just enforce them. It’s sad that Shion became a satellite in the end, though, because she and Satomi would have made an adorable couple. But oh well, there’s always fanfic! ✍🏾" (@justanisabelakinnie)
