Jonathan Harker was late to "Stabbing Dracula with a Shovel Day" because he was too busy looking for his Kukri. This is a hand-painted 3D model of Jonathan Harker in the pose of Benvenuto Cellini's Perseus with the Head of Medusa! @quackysprouts incredible illustration was a huge inspiration to begin this project! As well as the texturing style of Arcane! I yearn for a stylized 3D animated book-accurate retelling of Dracula 😳 If you want to see a breakdown of how I made this piece, you can see it here! Genuine question

In most Dracula book fanart, Mina is represented as black. And of course I’m not a fucking fascist idiot and this is no problem to me plus I think it looks cool, but I’ve been genuinely wondering if I missed something in the book ? Or is there just a general reason why she is represented like that in art ?

Different from the other two formats, early chapters and thereafter her final chapters. To me I imagine she becomes totally unrecognizable, but instead of it being a "glow-up", it's a tragedy.

every year i’m delighted by the first entry of dracula ending with YOUR FRIEND DRACULA

no he is not. “Dracula” by Bram Stoker is my friend. Count Dracula who has tried to eat my favorite real estate lawyer four years in a row is most certainly not.

Oh dear, I’ve just gotten notice that our dear friend Jonathan is to go on some journey to foreign lands in but two weeks! How exciting! I sure hope everything goes alright in his trip!

Seeing discourse on YouTube about “if it’s old media it doesn’t need a spoiler warning bc you should know it all anyway after __ amount of time” and “suck it up it’s just spoilers it won’t ruin the experience” and it just pisses me off so much for some reason

It is so easy to just respect people who are new to this thing you love. You don’t even have to avoid talking about spoilers just give a warning like any other cw you put in, especially with media where knowing the end very drastically changes your experience ingesting the story. You’re taking away someone’s opportunity to EVER experience this story the intended way. Why

Also just because media is old doesn’t mean people know what’s gonna happen. Nobody can be expected to know the plot of every piece of old media to ever exist. Maybe this book is 100 years old maybe this game is 20 years old but if I’m new to the horror genre I have never been in spaces where I know anything about this stuff just let people experience things for the first time if they want to, and if your space isn’t going to give them that experience give them a warning to go elsewhere it’s so easy. Everyone deserves the opportunity to experience something naturally for the first time
