God you know what I just realized?

Caleb spends the entire campaign with the wholehearted belief that not only will he figure out how to travel back in time, but his plan will work.

Which means that a part of Caleb believes that he did not kill his parents. That his parents are still alive.

Caleb's self-loathing comes from *being* a person who *would* kill their parents.

So Caleb's decision at the end of the campaign to destroy the T-Dock solidifies two things:

1) he did kill his parents

2) he would rather be the person he is now

this is the most basic film theory ever, but i really hope in the mighty nein animated series they emphasize shadowhand thelyss's levitation by angling the "camera" low and looking upwards, only so they can contrast it later with keeping the "camera" mostly level with essek, member of the mighty nein, even when levitating. something something poetic cinema.
