This is the time of my life I'll miss. I was hot, tired, pissed off, and had just walked all day in the 130° heat. I flipped the camera off, because I was all of these things above. But inside I was happy. I'd made it through the day without being blown up, shot, or broken. I was free to finish the mission the next day because I was healthy and I had men who had my back. They kept my ass safe and they are the reason I'm home here in Tennessee. I miss this on a daily basis. Nothing can compare to it. I'm lost here at home. Over there I wasn't. I had purpose and the will to fight for the man to my left and right. Here I'm alone in my battles. And it sucks.
