this might come across as anti capitalist but,,,,,, i want to enjoy life
this might come across as anti capitalist but,,,,, i want everyone to enjoy life
My friend takes this one step further and refers completely accurately to his girlfriend Danielle as "My partner, Dan"
do NOT feel bad abt scarfing down a tub of raspberries. there is NO reason at all to ration them like other delicious treats bc they WILL mold as soon as theyre out of your line of sight
“who hurt you” me dude I’m fucking dumb
i understand why old people sit outside just to sit outside
I didnt realize Elon Musk had other kids from before Grimes, but learning he has an 18 year old trans daughter who is legally filing a name change to match her gender identity and so she'll no longer be related to her father in name really puts his "pronouns suck" "this isnt your heart" shenanigans into a much worse light.
I hope you never see this man again, yet still get all his money.
Lol
you’re just gonna leave this in the tags?
You know how canaries were historically brought into coal mines, because if the mine was full of carbon monoxide the canary would die first and the miners would be able to escape before they died too?
I just found the greatest thing.
This is a canary resuscitator.
When the miners notice the canary getting sick with carbon monoxide poisoning, they can close that circular hatch so no more gas gets into the canary cage, and open the valve on that oxygen tank to keep the canary breathing. In other words, they made a spacesuit for birds.
By immediately giving the canary access to clean air, the miners can save it from the poison. The bird lives. To be clear, this is not for economic purposes, this was specifically created because the miners felt bad and wanted to save the bird.
Isn’t that just the perfect demonstration of what humans are like? We started sacrificing small creatures to save ourselves, and then felt bad and spent our valuable resources on saving the critters too. Because yeah the canary was the only way to test for CO, but it’s a living creature too, dammit!
Well thank you for kicking down my door and punching me in the teeth with that comment, I definitely needed that at 1 am when I should definitely be asleep
*quietly whoops like a bird*
All profit is theft.
"Profit" means getting more for something than it's worth.
Charging for materials + labor is not profit. Charging for materials + labor + overhead is not profit. Charging for materials + labor + overhead + tools is not profit. (Note that businesses can write off the costs of labor, overhead, and tools on their taxes. Those aren't part of their annual profits.)
Profit is gain that isn't related to the value of the thing or its related costs, including labor.
Profit is always "I'm charging this much because I can."
Sometimes it's stolen wages: "I will charge this much and not pay my workers any extra for it." Sometimes it's stolen from the community: "This item is only for rich people; I'm marking it up so only millionaires can buy one." Sometimes there's exotic tax games to steal profit from the government.
But profit is always, always, always charging more for something than it's worth. Profit is a wealth extraction process that takes money from the have-nots and gives it to the already-haves.
Yes, and I need to underline for all the artists and creative out there:
You are not stealing from people by charging for your labor. That is charging for your labor, and though you are profiting from your work, that isn't "profit" in the sense we're talking about here. That is compensation for labor.
I want my ass slapped and $7000 inserted into my bank account
why do i wake up more tired than I was when i went to sleep
