Cute drawings of Bernie! But what about one drawing of him been both Bernie and Florian? Two people in one single person, because I'm sure that despite the years and his free lifestyle, the pain of losing his childhood friends are still there in his heart.
Hm...I don't quite know how to answer this. Besides, this is not something I am interested in drawing. I don't believe nor like when people try to act like Bernie is two different people? He simply doesn't wish to be the person he was forced to be.
Bernie is who he is today and to me that is all that matters. I don't get the point when people constantly bring up pre Liberty him. We know the trauma he had to face and how much that has a negative affect on him. That hasn't gone away since he moved to Liberty. Even if his idea of coping is pushing that all away and pretending nothing happened, he still is dealing with that pain, I would assume, still pretty regularly.
Bernie has a lot of depth and I would love to talk about his life in the states, just stuff not like this. I don't like when people call him by his old name and I do not think people need to obsess over 'who he was before he came to the states' clearly that's a side that he doesn't want to show anymore.
I don't know if that really answers your question. But yeah. Bernie is a character I have spent a long time thinking about, drawing, writing things for, creating think pieces around, and I just don't think something like that would or should be necessary.
I'm glad you enjoy the art though! He is a character that I am very attached to and have a lot of love for. ๐
Answering this ask too, that I got today. I know this is speaking about before Bernie changed his name....but please, at least for me, when you talk about Bernie.... Just call him Bernie!! I, and I'm sure other people reading know that obviously he wasn't called that during this time. But it just makes it better for me. Am I overly sensitive about names? Clearly, but especially for LGBT people (and in this case characters) it is very important to respect names, as these really affect our identity!
Second, I wanted to say, as much as I love Niko/Bernie. I don't think it would have been because he had a crush on Niko. Like do I think he could have had a crush on him growing up, sure! That's fine. But I think in this case, its because Bernie knows Niko. Bernie knows Niko is genuinely a good person, despite the hard and tough guy he tries to be. Bernie trusts that Niko wouldn't have betrayed them, and that is why he knew it wasn't him. I think that adds far more depth to the both of them, then it being due to a crush.
I know I sort of crushed these down...but PLEASE talk to me about Bernie, or other IV things. I am so passionate about this game, especially when it comes to my faves. As I said, I would LOVE to talk about Bernie while in the states and what not!!
