How to Enchant Items

To enchant an item is to infuse it with magickal energy. This energy can come from a variety of sources, including planets, crystals, herbs, or even yourself. 

Some individuals use the words “enchant” and “charm” synonymously as a way to describe the process of infusing something with energy, but for the sake of this post and due to my own beliefs, you enchant something and it then becomes a charm. Alternately, a charm can be something with its own innate energy, like a crystal or herbal amulet. 

The process of enchanting is extremely versatile and there are many ways to do it successfully, so long as you keep your intent clear in your mind. My personal preference when it comes to enchanting items is to allow 12-24 hours (overnight or a full day) for the item to be infused with energy and become a charm - although, this is completely left up to the individual spell-caster. 

Here are a few ideas on how to enchant items, in no particular order:

Surround the item with crystals of corresponding intent

Surround the item with herbs of corresponding intent 

Place the item in a jar filled with herbs that represent your intent

Place the item in front of a candle and meditate on your intent 

Anoint the item with an oil, charged water, or crystal elixir of corresponding intent 

Hold the item in your hand(s) and visualize it filling with the appropriate energy 

Hold the item in your hand(s) and speak your intent aloud

Craft a sigil or symbol to keep near the item in an envelope or sachet

Write your intention on paper and keep in an envelope with the item 

Pair the item with a corresponding runestone or tarot / oracle card in an envelope 

Take the item and put it in a box with other items that represent your intent such as crystals, herbs, talismans, amulets, etc. 

Bury the item in soil with herbs and/or crystals that match your intent (please don’t put salt on your lawn though, unless you want dead grass)

Pass the item through incense smoke that matches your intent

scene on a budget, for those who want to do it but dont have the money to buy vintage gir hoodies and band tees n shit off ebay, cuz i sure dont either 

go to party city, they have fishnet gloves in every colour you could ever want, and of various lengths as well!! super neon, dark black, rainbow gradient, you name it 

go to like, walmart and get a bunch of those printed leggings for like 3-5$ each. they come in animal print, clusterfuck patterns, eye clashing colours, ones with a ton of random words on em, all that good shit. and they give the look of skinny jeans without being as expensive xD 

you can find a LOT of cool rainbow and ~cute cupcakez!~ type of stuff in the party section of walmart/target/etc too! i didnt really see any at party city but i did for sure at walmart. they have a TON of that rainbow stuff there!

kandi is so cheap and an easy way to add a lot of the Look…. just get some beadz n string at walmart too and ur Good 

you dont Have to have really cool dyed hair and stuff, in all honesty i just spike mine up n straighten the bangs, which is still the Look without the expense of fancy dyes. dont worry about needing a 50$ cut !! scene comes from your heart, not ur wallet..!!! 

they have knockoff converse at places like walmart or target too, its not Name Brand so its cheaper, and its the same look so …. i loev to string kandi in the shoelaces too to add a cool effect, or you could use sharpie n draw on the shoes too!! 

unfortunately its super hard to find tops/shirts anymore, cuz most of the bands that were big then arent mainstream/new merch being made now, and not much zim shirts out now either.. so like… as for shirts i just use a lot of solid black/pink/purple/whatever, and pair it with cool leggings or a coat. like the shirt just becomes an accent for the rest, kinda thing. and solid tshirts are so cheap holy shit 

uhhhhhh i use really cheap makeup too which is cool bc thats kinda the Look anyways…. i also use cheap black and green nailpolish and it really adds to it imo, if yure comfy with makeup or nail polish, not everyone is and thats ok! 

get rainbow bows n hair clips in the hair section, theyre really good if you like that ~stick a bunch of stuff in ur hair~ look!! you can also wear scrunchees as bracelets too! 

hoodies are so epic, if you dont have any good shirts you can throw on a hoodie and thats like. instant emo right there. for real. really easy super comfy super Edge 

if its around halloween, which is a bit away frm now but u can plan ahead, they always sell super awesome stuff like striped gloves n rainbow stockings and big ol black platform boots around this time!!!!!
