the old web can feel super intimidating to get into

i knew absolutely nothing about it before i got involved with it properly, tbh. but i LOVED the idea of bringing back personalised websites, a less like-driven social sphere and the ability to actually be offline - this is all so much easier with a cowsite ;)

but if you don't know where to start, following hashtags like #oldweb and #indieweb, and looking up people’s #neocities or #cowsites is a great start!! getting involved with the old web is an AMAZING way to say #fuckai as well <33

the modern attention span (me too though)

the modern attention span (thanks to social media) is crazy - i’m victim to it too - which is why our newsletter about the old web is a bit longer, a bit wordy and places a lot of value on the indie web and how you can get involved. this discussion deserves this kind of space, i believe - revolt against the 7 second attention span <3 newsletter.cowsite.net

Girly media is so important, actually. Where else are you going to find shows that constantly and consistently depict how hyper femininity and badassery aren't mutually exclusive? As a matter of fact, more often than not, they even portray their tomboys much more realistically and respectfully than most male-led media.

[LOST MEDIA FOUND] The first version of the Barbie Princess Dress-Up game has been completely found! Originally, the Rapunzel part was thought to be the only part archived. But today I discovered the Swan Lake and Nutcracker parts were saved on the French version of the site (fr.barbie.com)

another mini zine!! :) first one I've done entirely in b&w for a while, usually I prefer color! but the sticker printer I have is a thermal printer that only does b&w, plus it's so much cheaper than color printing haha and I wanted to put this zine in local little free libraries! hope you all enjoy seeing some critters I see in my everyday life :)
