❤️✨THE HALF-N-HALF EDIT CHALLENGE ✨❤️

So @bellagothes and I came up with this idea together where two simblrs will take a screenshot and each person will edit half of the screenshot based on a theme. There’s been a lot of things going around on simblr recently, so we thought this was a good break from all the conflicts that have occurred within like the last month or so. So basically, this challenge was created for the sole purpose to driving this simblr community closer together with collaboration while also having some fun lol

❤️THE RULES:

1. Partner up with a simblr! It could be anyone from one of your mutuals to a random person you saw on your dashboard :)

2. Choose a screenshot!

3. Choose a theme for your edit!

4. One of the simblr will edit half of the image! The image can be divided in half either vertically or horizontally by a small white line (which can be removed later if you want).

[Note: the two halves of the edit do not have to go well with each other, just have fun!]

5. After one of the simblrs are done with editing their half of the image, the file of the edit can be saved as a psd or xcf and sent to the other simblr for them to edit.

6. Be sure to tag your edit with #halfnhalfedit

7. Tag other simblrs who you would like to see do this challenge!

StrangerVille Survival Challenge

This challenge is loosely inspired by Pinstar’s Apocalypse Challenge; however, my challenge is more focused on the StrangerVille story and designed to make use of much of StrangerVille’s content, so I think it’s different enough from Pinstar’s challenge to stand on its own.

Story

The Mother has utterly destroyed StrangerVille. There is nothing left but abandoned buildings and a town overrun with toxic plants. Most of the inhabitants have fled in terror, but the few who remain are infected… and highly contagious, but your Sim knows they can’t be the only survivor who is still healthy. Others are out there somewhere. Your Sim must find a way to live in this dangerous new world and look for other survivors.

Objective

Start with nothing but an empty plot of land and a desire to survive. Build a fully self-sustainable fallout shelter and gather up a colony of fellow survivors who will help you grow your base. The challenge ends when you have a colony of 8 Sims and have built a finished, self-sustainable shelter that can accommodate your entire colony. Each member of the colony must be assigned a role and be masters of their role’s skills.

1. What is the first Sims game you ever played?

I am not 100% sure but I am pretty sure it was The Urbz: Sims in the City on Xbox and Gameboy Advance (I had both so I don’t remember which I played first haha.) It could also have been Sims 2 for Gameboy Advance. Whichever was released first is the answer. :P

2. What is the first Sims game you bought?

lol I think Sims 3 and Sims 4 base game were gifts (and every thing before that.) I don’t remember exactly but I think I bought Get To Work expansion for Sims 4 before buying any of the other packs.

3. What is the last Sims game you bought?

None exactly apart from buying Jungle Adventure and Parenthood during last sale (but those are packs so yeah.)

4. What sims game are you currently playing?

TS4 right now as I never bought packs for TS3 and I can’t be bothered to download a bunch of CC for TS3 again. ; - ;

5. What is your favorite world?

I don’t really have one but I started another save in Forgotten Hollow and I tend to drift more to making sims for that area so I guess that’s it. 

6. Who is your favorite pre-made family?

None. I never followed the families and I tend to move them out of their lots when I want their houses. lol

7. What packs do you wish you had in your game?

To be honest, I bought all the packs that I actually thought were worth the money but I guess I would say Strangerville as it’s new and I am kind of intrigued. Spa Day is a big maybe. I have a bunch of packs but I honestly haven’t even played with any of them except City Living and briefly Dine Out and Outdoor Retreat.

8. Who is your favorite sim you made?

Well it was Emmy and Apes (loosely based on my twin sister and I - but customized more to our liking). Now I would have to say that it’s Dezox for a new save I am working on. I would spoil some screens but I’ll save those for another time ;)

9. How many years have you been playing the Sims?

Since I was little, that’s all I know lol

10. When did you start your Simblr?

Ermmm, I have always wanted to be apart of the Simblr community but I only made it probably October 2018 but I’d have to check my email to be sure.

How much does a Sims CC creators make on Patreon?

The average pay for a Sims creator on Patron is $0.16 per Day per patron in a 30 day period. The average pay for a Sims creator on Patron is unknown since their work gets stolen and they continue to be treated like slaves and made to feel like they are the worst people in the world for sitting for hours in one spot starring at a screen for hours, days and weeks to make cc for simmers who believe they don’t deserve to be paid for their work.

Let me just say one thing. When are people going to realise that this is our job, you may not want to believe that it is possible to make this into a job, but if you understand how the world works. Time = Money. 

YES there are simmers who do this on a casual basis and do it as a hobby which is so awesome. But some of us either have no choice but to make this our job due to personal reasons or because they have been doing this for so long they can make this into their full time work. We are not on Patreon because we want to rob you guys or make you feel like if you got no money fuck off. It is honestly just for us to get a little compensation for our work. What the hell is the issue with that? Why cant you just support our decision to be on Patreon?

The sims community is the only life simulation community that does not support their own creators, the select few who do appreciate the hard work we do, you don’t know how much it makes us want to continue to do this and how happy we are knowing that you love our content but the constant slander and drag of creators on Patreon and simmers coming into DMs asking for us to make specific CC and if we don’t they threaten us and non stop keep asking if we are doing it or worse start rumours for no reason other then they are just bored. It is so fucked up. You are the ones who make us just want to be like, is it even worth releasing CC to the public at all?. 

You guys are breaking the trust of so many creators who are here to make content for you, your stories, your rp pages and your game. 

I really do not understand why so many people makes it into such a issue that creators are on Patreon and think we are stuck up assholes for asking for money for our work. Clearly you guys need to live a little or if you are a young adult grow up because I promise you, enjoy life while you get pocket money from your parents because once that ends… you will understand just how hard it is and trust me. It does not get better, it gets worse and harder every single year, no not even that amount of length, everyday becomes a struggle. Thats just my case tho, I can only speak for myself on that note haha.

I know it is not every simmer who has this salty attitude towards this topic and do support our decision and are not patrons. I personally know and talk to people who support my work by downloading my cc [ FROM PAGES OF MY OWN ] and send me the kindest messages to me of appreciation and encouragement.

To be a patron is the choice of the simmer, we do not force anyone to sign up to invest in us or hold it against anyone who doesn’t due to their own situations or just because they don’t want to, but you need to understand once money is involved and it is coming from someone else’s pocket into ours, we have to give them more then what we would for public releases. I do not produce slack work for my public releases and I know other creators don’t aswell so don’t feel like because you cant be a patron you are getting the shit end of the stick. It is just basic human decency to give back or in our chase more to those who give us something in return.

I know this topic will only die once the sims community no longer has any creators because they have all moved to other games because they are sick and tired of this treatment. So, if you want that day to come, continue because I PROMISE YOU… its drawing near.

I am tired of having to write novels about this but you really don’t know how frustrating this is for us

there are tons of pages for 3d creators of any kind poses animations clothes hair rooms houses that gamers have to pay to get those creations PER creasion sims is the only complaining community, we ve seen over the years that so many awesome creators just vanished and we all know why BECAUSE they fund some way to show threir tallent and be appreciated and rewarded for their work!!! Creators dont do Patreon to make you feel unwanted they do Patreon to have a reason to stay when sommething else comes up and they dont have time to make stuff for you!!!. I agree that life is a struggle once you pass the pocket money time and you have to work ALL DAY and do things that you dont like for a shity pay and no choice to do anything else but this for the rest of your life and i RESPECT those who dont understand that.So please respect Patreon users cause PATREON IS THE ONLY REASON THAT THEY STAY in this community (sorry my english is baaad)
