Reposting partially because some of my old stuff is in here, but also for Jim Lee’s piece here. It’s simultaneously maybe my favorite Jim Lee drawing as well as, through his interpretation of the movie costume, my favorite look for a “current” Shazam I’ve seen since the beginning of the New 52. And I don’t know that I would’ve seen it had it not been for this post.

Before I liked comics, I liked the Marvel Trading Cards. Reading the backs of these cards really helped me understand what was going on in comics. They gave me a way in.

Arthur Adams must have been the first comic artist I became aware of, and it was all because of these cards. Seemed every card I liked had a tinny “AA” on it. Some of the first comic art I copied was Art Adams Marvel Cards.
