To solve this problem, I had proposed a T.A.B work in this office to overall manager. T.A.B is originally intended to select the capacity of air-conditioner according to the each office's use and user arrangement at new site and to set the location of air-conditioner.

However, there were already 5 air-conditioners in office, and each one was discharged cooling air through 5 to 8 diffusers.

I had suggested that it should maximize the performance of already installed air-conditioner. To carry out it, it was necessary to replace poor air-conditioners, adjust the position of diffusers/lighting fixtures, and cut off radiant heating.

I had made a it's proposal that T.A.B be conducted essentially first. The proposal was gradually expanded and accepted. Eventually, 2 weeks later, the T.A.B works were run.

The users in that office had complained regarding to cruel hot office whenever summer is coming. 5 air-conditioner have been operating for office with an area of 264m2 and 10 users. Nevertheless the reason for high temperature of office was caused by below.

1) Poor performance of air-conditioner,

2) Selecting the wrong location of diffuser where cold air is discharge,

3) Forming a hot-spot the place where user is crowded

In addition to above, the office temperature might been increased as it failed to block the radiant heating that penetrate into office.

Ethylene glycol leaked

A staff complained about bad odor spreading only in his office. So we had sniffingly look all around office to catch the bad odor.

That fucking odor spread from false ceiling of his office. Eventually the cause of bad odor was ethylen glycol. Glycol was accumulated in a drip-pan located below air-conditioner installed on false ceiling.

The exact spot where the glycol was leaked was the valve joint side of the air conditioner. There was a crack in the valve joint, and it’s status was tear and wear. To safely replace a valve, we closed the main/branch v/v and replaced them with new ones.
