I guess there were no hard feelings over their very different political convictions. The next time they met, Kari and Addi gave each other a big hug.

Though it seems his main purpose in visiting was to use her computer. Guy lives on a farm with minimal technology, can’t say I blame him.

And Kari’s berry oatmeal is ~amazing~

Addi Schwartz walked by Kari Huber’s house. She hasn’t changed clothes since her brother died. Addi had to awkwardly explain that he isn’t attempting to grope her, but was doing the little hand-photo-frame thing. He aimed very poorly.

Since she didn’t have anything better to do, Kari sat down for a conversation with her neighbor. She kind of instantly regretted it.

They’re not off to a great start.

Kari needed to de-stress after that, so she broke out her new arcade game. Games>boys, every time.

The Dangers of Romancing a Romance Sim

*ten minutes later*

Ezekiel plays Creston like a fiddle.

Poor guy is infatuated.

Once they got the important life conversations out of the way, the date went amazingly well! (Creston was not amused by the gross allegations against his person.)

Week 2, the Bridges family

Elisha is still plugging away to get her Gold Robotics badge. I gave all of the settlers new but similar hair - one, to show the passage of a “year”, but mostly because I love the new hair system. To start off the Bridges’ round, I sent them to the new community lot.

Indigo worked his butt off digging for treasure to finance the buildings (they’re empty right now!), since the taxes he collected were just enough to buy the land and build the little basketball court. 

When the Bridges arrived, they were pretty impressed by where their tax dollars had gone.

Creston went to apply for a job in the newly opened Law Enforcement career. Elisha meant to apply for the Science career (a bit early since she hasn’t mastered Robotics yet), but...

She saw Indigo hanging out on the basketball court and had to say hello. They’re best friends, after all. (She’s the reason he was able to unlock electricity and running water for the community.)

After some chatting and a friendly game of basketball...(a game that lasted into the next day lol)

Elisha rolled a want to ask someone on a date. 

So that escalated quickly.

The new community lot is shaping up to be a fun place for the settlers. This is the basketball court (Indigo is a big sports fan). There will be a post office and a town hall here when it’s completed.

Indigo might have been hard at work, but his new baby, Goodboy, spends most of his time napping. A wise creature.

When he’s not working, Indigo works on improving the skills that will help him be a great leader. Logic is a big one; he doesn’t seem to quite grasp the purpose of telescopes, but he’ll get there.

Death came for one of the settlers - Cohen Huber, brother of Kari Huber.

(Nothing happened in-game to cause it; I have a “health” section of my spreadsheet that calculates health over time based on a bunch of factors. Cohen unfortunately rolled for a young death.)

Cohen and Kari had reached BFF status just before his death, so she was understandably devastated. 

But that ended Round 1 (week 1) with the settlers of Crackerjack Canyon!

Creston and Ezekiel Bridges love gossiping about the other settlers of Crackerjack Canyon. Ezekiel’s flower shop is slowly (VERY slowly) gaining traction, while Creston has been fishing his little butt off.

Even though Ezekiel is a born player, Creston has developed a fairly powerful crush on her.

But he always seems to be a step or two behind her.

The Huber siblings, Cohen and Kari.

They’re pretty goofy together. But they love each other.

The first meal Cohen made in their new home was sushi. Dude’s got taste.

They have a more modern, eclectic style than most of the settlers. (And more money to spare, since they didn’t invest in either a full fledged farm, opening a business, or whatever the heck founder Indigo spent all his money on.)

The backyard has some bee-houses so they can collect and sell honey, a pretty little peach tree, and a training dummy that Kari insisted on. She dreams of being a super-cop one day.

Founder Indigo is working himself into the ground trying to run the town alone. He fell asleep in his grits, poor dude.

They think of each other often. With my politics system (which I recently revamped in my spreadsheet), same-sex marriage has to be voted into law, and that can’t happen until founder Indigo unlocks the Political career for other sims so that the town can form a Town Council to vote on issues. :( Really hoping these two can make it official one day, but that might be jumping the gun since they haven’t been on their first date yet! (They did autonomously woohoo, though. <3)
