Just a WiP and an Oh I Have Leftover Paint on the Makeshift Palette Painting

Got a work dangle that I had to turn into something.

1. Taped on the bones

2. Papier-mâché’d

3. Put some sludge on it to fill the cracks

4. Paint!

5. Had a party!

(It’s double-sided and has the New Moon -eyes closed- on the back)

The metal sign I was commissioned to make for a store in Ypsi.

1. I cut the metal

2. Base coat o’ purp with a lil’ green

3. Perforated my tracing paper sketch with a rolly thing I assume came from my grandmother’s house and patted a sock full of baby powder over top to get the outline

4. Close Up

A year goes by and what does that mean? Curiosities found along the way certainly leave a mark in my brain. 

Pondering on some of these events made me recheck my photos, and here are some that stood out to me for various reasons.

I must say that finding the orange hair pick/comb piece was a real treat. And to see a little nugget of hair next to it made me lol.

Hey folks,

Here's one of my favorites by Neil Young. 

It's a pretty straightforward tune, and it's been fun to clank around and whip some things out on my keyboard.

It'd sound much more rich, full, nice on a traditional piano, but the keyboard does the job. Excited to play on a real piano one day!

I know there's nothing too original about airplane wing photos, but I was consciously trying to do something different with each of these. It helps that the sky provided its own color pallet gradient. Click on each to see the caption/title. Edit: If you can't see, the titles are "focus on your priorities," "call and response," and "three intersecting lines."

Salvaged Hair Accessories with hand-whittled sticks

My neighbor was throwing out a leather chair her cat had pissed on in one section and I couldn't see all the rest go to waste...but I also didn't want to keep collecting things, so I came up with something to make with it right quick and there you have it! The Medusa snake stick has a little leather tongue you can barely see and it took an embarrassing amount of time. For the most part, though, a very nice process to make something.

Read a book. Couldn’t not draw this image when I read a bit on the practice. Sisters told me it was creepy and it didn’t sink in until I started painting on the bloody belly. Sort of made me a little ill and I had to take a break. Yeah, yeah, everyone’s outfits don’t necessarily make any sense…
