Run with Me!

On June 29, 1997 my family lost a great Dad, Roy Neal. Back in 2016 I started a quest to run a mile or more every day and donating $1 everyday to ALS TDI. After 643 straight days it’s time for a new challenge. Starting today 1/26/18 I will do 30 push-ups everyday and donate a $1 everyday to ALS TDI. Along the way I will have posts on craft beer because nothing is better after a long run or push-ups than a great craft beer. So check back often and support, cheer, have a drink, or hell, Run with Me! Together we can end ALS.

586 days in a row!!!!

So it's been a while and during that time I had to adjust my run to include biking or walking due to a pretty bad Achilles tendonitis issue. But with help from my wife my runs have turned into amazing walks with my wife. Today was a bike day and marked off day 586 in a row!!!! At the end of the year I will be donating to ALS TDI to support their efforts in finding a cure for ALS. I'll keep better blog posts as I close in on 600 days in a row

Day 485 and counting

I've been away and I'll admit I'm Horrible at staying up to date on this blog but my days are still adding up. Hard to believe 485 straight days!! I have a few big runs I'm thinking of doing this summer and 1 5K I've entered. Rain, sun, heat and cold nothing stops me so let's keep this thing going as we approach Day 500 milestone!!

432 straight days

I'm still going 😃 today marked 432 straight days of a mile or more. I have currently ran from my house to Williamsville, VA! The quest continues so we can put an end to ALS

Wow been a while!!!

I have been away way to long sorry been very busy. I'm still running/biking and today marked 395 straight days!!!!!! Next week will be day 500 and I can't wait!!! It's Superbowl weekend!!!!

340 days in a row!!!!

Tonight marked my 340th straight day of running a mile or more!!! It's crazy to think I only have 26 days left of this year. I'm celebrating tonight with pulled pork and chocolate chip cookies. Keep running

I've been away but still running

Sorry for the long absence but today was 329 straight days!!!!! The holiday and setting up Christmas have kept me busy but my quest continues. Throughout the last few weeks I've enjoyed some great family and great beers. My favorite over the last few weeks is Upstate Brewing's Aussie IPA!!!

Day 317!!!

What a great night it was 67 degrees on 11/19. I did a solid run outside and it felt great. Very quiet and a nice cool breeze perfect running weather. I celebrated with some Upstate Brewing Fall IPA

313 days and counting!!!

Tonight I completed my 313 straight days. Over the last few days I had to scale back my pace as I was starting to get the signs of Achilles Tendonitis. So the last 3 days I've ran a lot slower pace and no more incline. My beer choice tonight is Upstate Brewing 2016 Ale.

307 straight days!!!!

So I completed day number 307 and the past week has been interesting to say the least. From issues with the treadmill to running in the dark with sub 20 degrees. The one thing I found is running very early is peaceful no sounds just nature. I'm honored to have ALS TDI do an article on my quest. Such a great organization that Will find a cure. Until that day my legs will keep churning out miles and honoring my Dad, Uncle and all those fighting the battle. Together we will find a cure because together we can defeat ALS!

Tonight was my 301st day in a row running a mile or more for ALS TDI. My treadmill broke again today so it was back outside again. My wife took the picture of me finishing my 300th day. Tonight I'm celebrating with Upstate Brewing Brunch. This is a great brown beer with outstanding coffee hints. If you can score some Brunch you won't be disappointed.

Today Mark 297 straight run days!!!!! The past 3 days have been an adventure from running in low 40's and heavy rain to this morning running in the dark and a frosty 32 degrees!! I will hug my treadmill when the replacement part arrives Monday. To celebrate my wife and I did our pumpkins and I'm ending the day by having some Upstate Brewing 2016 Ale. What an amazing beer! If you can score some get it!

294 Straight Days

So excited I’m over 80% through the first year!!! Today’s run was chilly it was only 43 degrees out brrrrrrr. Good news is the new part for the treadmill should arrive tomorrow 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. With snow in tonight’s forecast that treadmill will be so sweet to use again. I ended my run today with a great can of Upstate Brewing Company’s Summer IPA (Ales for ALS beer). The hops that were used in this beer were outstanding and Upstate balanced this beer perfectly.

Today was my 292nd day of running a mile or more. Each day completed will be another $1 going to ALS TDI to help them find a cure.
