Thereās nothing like having a child with (hidden) disabilities to show you how small your village really is. Or to show you where the cracks are in your relationship.
Iām tired and over it. The last straw was a presentation in a division-wide meeting. It included a skit/role play depicting the current customer experience followed by the vision for the new one. And it was one Iād been a part of, in another organisation, 25+ yrs ago. Nothing changes.
whenever I confess to people that i feel like I am just roleplaying as a normal person they're always like noooo you don't strike me as someone who's roleplaying as a normal person at all!!! :) and every time internally im like well yes that's because I am excellent at it
Met with the senior boss this week. They made some excuses, offered a couple of apologies, tried to throw three respected colleagues under the bus and thanked me for being open with my feedback. Do they think we donāt talk to one another?
Things are unlikely to change despite the platitudes but I HATE looking for work, hate the interview process so will hang around to the end of the year if I can find ways to tolerate it.
Not really feeling great about life, the universe and everything right now so Iāve made an appointment with a counsellor Iāve worked with before. A few things needed to be dealt with. 1. Iām increasingly anxious and pessimistic about AIās misuse and peopleās apparent willingness to go over the cliff with it and 2. Vās most recent Dx was delivered by the assessing health professional via text in a very casual way and itās still bothering me. There are other things but these are the big ones
This year needs to ease up on me a bit. Three diagnoses for V, illness relapse for my partner, motherās dementia progressing, loss of 8 fabulous work colleagues due to awful boss plus impending job loss for me, and now it seems one of my dearest friends has dementia.
I had planned to take a vow of supreme health this morning but a colleague walked into my office and handed me the note and honeycomb work husband left for me on Friday (his last day).
On the up side, the really weird and rare illness that was supposed to kill my father has spontaneously resolved and the specialists are very bemused and have no explanation (no joke, the lead researcher into this thing at the local university super-excited).
Tumblr is basically where I whine and vent these days.
Whoever invented getting out of bed can go to hell
Tonight I managed a good chat with one of Vās young adult siblings and another with her mother. They were able to give me some useful health/disability information as well cultural/religious information. The health information will help me get my concerns heard about something Iāve been trying to get taken seriously for years.
Two of Vās older siblings, who are close to her in age, live with their paternal grandparent. That grand parent does not have my respect. They have told the children that their youngest brother is their nephew and that their aunt is their mother.
The aunt has told the children she found them in the rubbish bin (not unusual in SE Asian/Asian cultures - itās a bit like saying āthe stork brought youā) but one of the children is quite literal (neurodivergent) and went to school saying thatās where they came from. The school has told the grandparent they canāt tell the children this, they should know the truth. Grandparent has doubled down on the lies.
Grandparent brought the children to one of the other siblingās birthday parties tonight. Only the third time in 6 yrs grandparent has let us see them. They had no idea Vās little sister was also their little sister. Itās all so sad and unnecessary.
Eastern Rosellas, the song.
The kids are all right.
Awful boss came into my office a couple of days post-drama and was uncomfortably nice to me. Turns out she is assigning our highest risk case to me. And sacking me at the same time. Itās ridiculous and Iām looking forward to quitting before that.
My work husband just had a stand up 1 hr truth telling session with the awful boss in front of awful bossās boss. Catās well out of the bag and running wild now.
Bossās boss canāt pretend he doesnāt know whatās going on now. I am on my way home via the bottle shop to buy a prize for my work husband (shouldāve given him a blog name)

Sneak attack!! send this to your favourite blogs and mutuals and ask them to share one nice thing (big or small) theyāre looking forward to in the coming week(s) š©·āØļøāŗļø
Thank you! Iām really looking forward to surprising V with some new books. Iāve a small stash and bring out one or two every now and then and sheās always thrilled.
After just over three years, 2.5 of which were pretty decent, my job is coming to an end. New management has a budget problem and theyāve worked out a way āsolveā it. It involves downgrading the qualifications necessary for the role and also the role itself. I donāt care to be a part of it and, by the end of the month, will be joining the 2/3ās of the team whoāve already quit.
Iām trying to remember it served its purpose and what made it great is no longer there. Iāll maybe make it to the end of the month. Maybe not.
It will be a challenge getting something with the level of flexibility - I basically donāt work if I donāt want to/have family responsibilities and only work limited hours on days of my choosing - but Iām keeping an open mind.
Hey can you guys reblog Cheeseburger so he can take a sunbeam nap on lots of blogs. No other reason I just want you guys to see him.
So, Cheeseburger died on November 21st after an unfairly short battle with an unfairly rare cancer that is rarely seen in cats. I only got to spend a month with him after his diagnosis, and losing him has been the greatest heartbreak of my entire life so far. He was my best friend and my soul cat, and he was there for me when I was completely alone, for twelve long years.
I made this transparent PNG the night he died in preparation for one of the many ways I was going to memorialize him--a surface rug in his likeness that I planned on laying directly in the line of his favourite sunbeam. And I uploaded that PNG here, because this is the website where people post their cats.
I was not expecting the reception I got. Many people have pointed out that this post has more reblogs than likes, and how insane that is in 2025 when reblog culture is at an all time low. I didn't even talk about the fact that Burger passed away in the original post, it wasn't a tearjerker reblog bait or anything like that. People just loved Burger that much, in the same way I fell in love with him at first sight. He was such an ugly kitten.
Anyways, it's really special to me that so many people have reblogged my best friend. I made this PNG to memorialize him in a completely different way, and you all wound up doing just that in ways I never even imagined.
Thank you. Wherever he is, I know the sun is shining.
Watched the Mexico v England match again. So good. Iām sad Mexico couldnāt go through, they were unlucky. Iām also excited about a possible England v France final.
