Daruma print canvas clasp purse! I added little accents to it with bits of embroidery and kumihimo knot.

It’s kinda funny since this project was inspired by a Kyoto Girls style magazine mook item I couldn’t get my hands on at first and then I happen to stumble upon similar fabric at the store...

Announcement! Painting Hippos has been changed to Craft Quest Cutie!

I feel like I have overstayed the old name of the blog considering I do much more than drawing (let alone paint). I started a new account on insta to house my craft projects in hopes of posting tutorials one day (just crazy busy right now to film and write lengthy instructions). As a New Year starts, comes a new planner! I went for a different route this year and drew on mine this year rather than using washi tape and stickers. Not 100% sure if the ink is compatible with this plastic cover material, we’ll have to see!

I will be changing my tumblr name soon and dropping the name of Painting Hippos. I am in the process of consolidating my art adventures under one name and channel so please stayed tuned!

Fixy patch! I embroidered a toothy apple to patch up a spot behind a magnetic clasp that got really worn away... now it smiles back at me! 😁

My last bunka doll caught someone’s eye and another is born. I love the bits of gold accents on this yellow fabric; it’s so lively!

New year, new agenda 💕 I love the grid paper in these and also how clean they are for some personalizing touches to add in. Just sad the ones left at the store didn’t have the clear outer wrap version as my 2017 one so it can act as a protective layer to my stickers.
