I like wearing dresses and sometimes bothering with heels. I get highlights in my hair. I LOVE manicures and pedicures. I have a cat. I love nothing better than getting drinks with friends and sharing the latest dirt. (I also sometimes swear like a sailor, shhh.) I have a Sephora.com addiction. I cry during any kind of sad movie. Although I like football I stay away from actually PLAYING any sport that involves hand-eye coordination. Iāve been described as āa girly girl.ā And. I LOVE BEER. This is my beer journey. Sharing when I sample different craft beers from the liquor store down the street, or going to one of the many craft brew gastropubs in San Diego. Reposting cool beer related things. Pictures, thoughts, tastes, how drunk a beer got me, what I was doing while drinking it, etc. This is a Girly Girlās Guide to Craft Beer, or as I like to call it, Crafty Beer Girl. <3
Oh hey this is a pic of me. And beer. How convenient for this blog I never update enough! Incidentally this pic was taken at this place:Ā http://tigertigertavern.blogspot.com/
Which fucking rocks. Like, $16 craft brew pitchers and $8 GIANT STEINS as big as your head. I got really drunk this night...last Friday. FYI.Ā
Highlight of our St. Paddy's Day: Walking intoĀ McFadden's San Diego, immediately running intoĀ Steve McKennaĀ fromĀ Drinking Made EasyĀ and taking an irish car bomb with him.
My favorite show. Available on Hulu Plus. All episodes, and I JUST TALKED TO ZANE LAMPREY ON THE PHONE OMG OMG OMG.
He's sending me a DVD of his new show, Drinking Made Easy, and a Pleepleus (monkey). IF you watch the show you will understand. Check it out here:Ā http://www.hulu.com/three-sheets
I'm still freaking out and can't focus. But I must put together his ad campaign for work. :-P
⢠2 large eggs
⢠1/2 Cups of white sugar
⢠1/4 Cups of brown sugar
⢠2 Cups of heavy cream
⢠1 Cups of whole milk
⢠1 Bottle of Stone Hammer Oatmeal Coffee Stout
⢠Ice Cream maker is recommended
1. Whisk eggs until light and fluffy, about two minutes.
2. Add sugar and brown sugar gradually while whisking until well blended.
3. Whisk in milk and cream.
4. Finally whisk in the bottle of Oatmeal Coffee Stout.
5. Chill ice cream mixture in fridge for 5 hours.
6. After 5 hours, churn your ice cream according to your ice cream makerās directions, adding 50% longer in time due to the alcohol.
7. Place mixture in freezer overnight, covered. Mixture will be a bit runnier than normal ice cream due to the alcohol, however the ice cream will solidify in the freezer.
8. Next day, your ice cream is ready to scoop and serve! It will still be pretty soft as the ice cream wouldnāt fully harden because of the alcohol content.
All of the companies trying to market to women by using pink packaging and āsassyā names are killing me. Just make a good product and everyone will want to buy it! Check out a few of the beers, wines and cocktails being marketed toward women on Chow here!
On the other hand. This is where "pretty" can go wrong. Even though I'm a "chick" (ew I hate that word). I would NEVER buy this beer. I draw the line at Bitch wine, which I buy on occasion for friends.Ā
Based on NEVER trying this and no personal experience hopefully ever, I give this beer a 0/5 stars.Ā
I base my beer decisions based on prettiness all the time. And fancy names. LIPS OF FAITH?!!! And I know enough French to know it says it's Beer from Mars. ALIEN BEER. I mean. Thatās genius. I'd pick it too.Ā
I had to do a little research on what a āMaster Ciceroneā is, iāll admit. But this is the basics:Ā
While thousands have passed the first level Cicerone exam known as Certified Beer Server, Erny is only the fourth person to earn the Master Cicerone titleāthe third and top level of the program. She also becomes the first woman and is the youngest of the four who have earned the title. Founded in 2007, the Cicerone Certification Program tests and certifies beer expertise similar to the wine worldās Master Sommelier program. The Master Cicerone exam includes 8 hours of written questions, 2 hours of oral questions and 2 hours of beer tasting and evaluation. Candidates needed an overall score of 85% to pass.
Hey guys, I had a SERIOUS BINGE in Vegas this past weekend. I'm talking tall cans on the strip, perfect margaritas at Margaritaville, those frozen tube drinks, tequila shots, fireball whiskey swigs galore, beer pong games at O'Shea's, champagne at 5am... yeah.Ā
Not to mention the way I ate in between all of that was not honorable to my body.Ā
So, in the so-cal hippie new wave tradition, I started a 14 day cleanse today! Hooraaaaaaaaaayyyyy.
Unfortunately this means no craft beer or drinking of any kind :( Suuuper sadface.
So I'll just continue to repost cool stuff I find on the interwebs and keep that going until me and my kwik mart full of craft brew meet again in 2 weeks. Oh man. Imagine that first delicious straight to my cleansed head sip. Can't wait!
