These are beautiful. I would love to make these!
Arm Wraps #2
Say Wrap #1 isn’t your style and you want an arm wrap that doesn’t require the tedious wrapping. Try this way out! It takes more sewing and materials, but you won’t have to worry about the wraps moving out of place.
Materials:
Plastic wrap
Masking tape
Scissors
Iron + ironing board
Fabric
Sewing machine
Zipper
Wonder Under (double sided iron on)
First, wrap your forearm in plastic wrap, then put pieces of the masking tape on top. Cover the entire plastic wrap and make sure to overlap the tape while doing so. It doesn’t have to be perfect, but make it as fitted as possible.
Cut the form straight down the middle and flatten it. This is going to be your template for the arm wrap.
Cut long strips of your fabric.
Then fold in the edges and sew it down to have a clean look.
Next take out the amazing Wonder Under and ironing material. I got mine at JoAnn’s Fabric with a 50% off coupon. Check your local stores for coupons, because they almost always have coupons and great deals. I use the Wonder Under for a lot of things, and it might be something you guys want to invest in. :)
For those who can’t get to a Fabric store, Wonder Under is available through amazon.com too! HERE
Trace your arm template on the smooth side of the Wonder Under. Then add half an inch more to the ends. This is so that you can add the zipper later.
Cut the traced Wonder Under and place it on top of some of the extra fabric. Smooth side up. Then Iron it down.
The Wonder Under will fuse with the fabric pretty well. Cut the piece out, then peel off the backing of the Wonder Under.
Place the backing of the Wonder Under on the ironing board to use as a guide to place the strips of fabric. Place the strips horizontally with the hemmed side up. Then cut the fabric strips as you cover the backing, and leave some fabric on the sides when doing this.
Keep placing the strips to follow the general shape of the Wonder Under backing. Make the strips overlap each other and put the strips at slight angles.
Next, place the fabric that is fused with the Wonder Under carefully on top of the strips of fabric. Make sure the fabric side it face-up and the Wonder under is on the bottom.
Next iron on top and when finished ironing, it should look something like this!
Trim the edges.
Sew about a quarter inch down the edge to secure everything in place.
Remember drawing the extra half inch on the Wonder Under? Get the Wonder Under backing and use it to mark the lines on the arm wrap. Fold along the drawn lines and iron it flat down. Do it to both sides. This is to make it easier when sewing on the zipper.
Line up the zipper with the arm wrap and pin them together. The zipper should be placed so that you zip UP to your wrist. Then sew the zipper on the arm wrap.
Trim the threads and excess zipper fabric, and YOU’RE DONE!
Hope this helped! Let me know if you have any questions!

Hi, different Anon here. What is your papier-mâché made from? What ingredients and technique? Its different from what I see usually and looks a lot... sturdier? Please and thanks!
Yeah Yeah!!!! Its a lot sturdier!
I make a base of cardboard and hot glue tinfoil to build up any places that need it (on this it was the eye sockets) and then do a quick cover layer of mache. I use blue shop towels (from auto parts), and concentrated sta-flo liquid starch. Then I come back after its dry and do a detail layer to smooth it all out and add features like the lips and nostrils. If it needs to be smoother I come back again with tissue paper.
Ive tried a TON of methods and I totally stand by this. Chicken approved

DIY LEAF BOWL
Materials:
Craft store leaf garland, Mod Podge (matte finish), Foam Brush, Balloon, Scissors, Mixing bowl
*Tip: try to find thin, paper-like leaves for your garland. The thinner the leaves, the better they will mold to the shape of your balloon. Also, avoid any plastic-coated leaves.
How To:
1. Begin by snipping the leaves off the strand of garland. Leave about 1/8” at the base.
2. Carefully rip the entire plastic stem (and all the veins!) off of the faux leaves (See image above). This will help the leaves mold to the shape of the balloon.
3. Fill up your balloon to size. We stuck ours inside a mixing bowl to keep it in place.
4. With your mod podge in a cup near by, gently apply a thin layer on top of your balloon, starting in the middle and working your way out.
5. Lay a leaf on top of the wet mod podge and smooth with your fingers or foam brush. Once it’s stuck in place, apply another thin layer of mod podge on top of that leaf. See image below.
6. Repeat, covering any empty spaces with smaller leaves.
7. When you reach about a quarter of the way down the balloon, add one or two leaves to the bottom of the bowl for extra weight and support. Allow to dry at least an hour.
8. When the mod podge is dry, carefully pop your balloon with a pin at the tied end, slowly letting the air out. Don’t be alarmed if the leaves shrink down when the balloon deflates, it will return to its original shape after a minute or so. You may find that some of the mod podge will stick to the edges of your leaves, but you can just pick or cut it off.
9. Use your bowl to hold potpourri or little wrapped halloween candies. We love easy ways to liven up your home decor and this colorful DIY does the job well.
BLACK ORIGAMI CRANES with copper eyelets - Flock of 5 by FoldYouSo (13.00 GBP) http://ift.tt/1a8sG2d
So where are we with mason jars? Are we over it yet?
I thought I was (over it) but this is a clever and easy way to put the things to use that isn’t a chandelier (eyeroll). As a fun little wall organizer in the bathroom, this upgrade is a great way to keep small things from cluttering the bath vanity counter. Meanwhile, mounting in the kitchen lifts your herb garden off the window sill. See the full how-to here via The DIY Playbook. -ts
