Kiri is the overpowered, god-like, female gigachad who can casually commune with Eywa, control nearly all living things with her abilities, and pull off incredible feats of divine wrath. Meanwhile, Spider is the one who is just standing there looking pretty, happily serving as the decorative accessory on her arm with zero complaints.

Spider is Kiri's emotional support human... And honestly? He's perfectly content with that.

Friendly reminder that Spider is both very good at reading aswell as at manipulating people. Like that boy KNOWS when he has leverage over others and how he needs to use it to get what he wants and it's lowkey kinda scary. He barely does it ofc but we've all seen how he had Quaritch feeding outta his hand in AFAA.

I think the worst part would be if Jake hinted that Spider should give that human teenager a chance. Of course he knows Kiri and Spider care about each other a lot—they’re practically obsessed with one another—but they’re just friends, right? Just a pair of teenagers who spend too much time together. It wouldn’t hurt for them to spend some time apart, and Spider is at the age where he should start dating. He’s a very handsome and kind boy, and there just so happens to be a human teenager interested in Spider. Perfect!

If Jake ever told Spider to try courting that teenager because they could make a cute couple, and Kiri happened to hear it (or maybe Tuk or Lo’ak overheard and told her), then the tantrum Kiri threw at Jake a few days ago would be nothing compared to the massive jealous meltdown she’d have now, because her father basically told Spider to marry and have children with THAT human who won’t stop staring at HER BOYFRIEND.

Jake just wanted Spider to try flirting with someone, but to Kiri, it meant Spider having a family with someone who isn’t her. Maybe Kiri exaggerated a little, but Spider is HER monkey boy, understand, Jake?

It's such a shitshow I fear.

I think the main issue is that Jake lowkey forgot his position in the clan with that one. Like- sure. It's one thing for your dad or some other older role model to tell you they think you'd fit well with X or Y. That's just totally normal advise??? But for the OLO'EYKTAN to specifically point someone else out and go "yo I think you two should get together"???? That starts to look SCARILY close to an order or attempt at arranged marriage. Especially since I imagine that it's not too uncommon for the clan leaders and elders to jump in as matchmakers occasionally. And add onto that that he told him to COURT a human??? Aka the thing you do specifically as a prelude to mating??? The thing that tells everyone around that you've locked in on that singular individual???

The meltdown will be horrible. Screaming, crying, "YOU'RE LITERALLY RUINING MY LIFE!!!!", the whole nine yards. Poor Jake has no idea what he did wrong. One second all is fine the next his kid is refusing to speak to him. She's staying with Mo'at for the time being while Neytiri slaps her dumbass of a mate over the head. She may dislike that pink skin, but also. Wtf Jake at least have a BIT of decorum. May the Great Mother give her patience for this one, 'cause if it's strength she may just end up catching a body. Seriously.

Whole thing gets too bad; Jake needs to publicly step up and renounce his declaration. Spider is just glad he didn't get enganged against his will after all T-T. The human teen is too scared to come to the village due to Kiri 100% having tried to kill her. She needed to be talked out of ritual fights for her bf's hand I fear. If the Na'vi have a concept of bride stealing she'd have done that.

Ahhh I'm thinking about a plot where Spider does love Kiri, but when she confesses her feelings to him, he gently rejects her, firmly believing that she deserves better and that even though he can breathe the air and has a kuru, he will never be able to properly provide for her, and that she'll regret being bonded to him. Kiri, knowing full well that he loves her and determined to draw those feelings out through any means necessary, deliberately gets herself captured by a passing RDA squad. If making a logical argument won't make Spider see... then maybe THIS will. Cue Spider losing his mind when he finds out, and immediately bonds with the deadliest, largest nightwraithe, rumored to have killed all who tried to bond with her, and zooms off on its back to find Kiri. By the time he catches up with the kidnappers, he looks like a crazy person and kills them all without blinking. Afterwards, he's hugging Kiri and begging for her forgiveness, and that he loves her and they'll find a way together. Kiri is hugging him back, stroking his hair...and smiling because her plan worked. Insane? Yup. Toxic? Absolutely. At least Spider got a cool mount out of this.
