Demos EP by James Bay
Currently obsessed with Collide and If You Ever Want To Be In Love.
This lovely handsome singer from Hitchin, UK is bloody talented. I saw him for the first time in November, as Kodaline’s first support act, in their UK tour. He’s currently touring as support for Tom Odell + on his first headlining tour in the UK! He’ll also be the main support act for Kodaline’s tour in the UK this March.
3 tracks out of 4 of his Demos EP are available to download FOR FREE on Soundcloud! But you’re very welcome to purchase it (iTunes, I believe) if you can. It’s so much more value for money.
Very much looking forward to his first album!
No you don’t have to wear your best fake smile, Don’t have to stand there and burn inside, If you don’t like it.
You might, if you’ve only seen James Bay with those impossibly lean limbs in skinny jeans, the cheekbones you could hang coats off, the moody fedora that has taken up permanent citizenship on his head, be surprised by what he’s actually like. In person, he races to embrace you in a big, gangling bear hug; within 20 seconds, you’re deep in chat. There’s no Lone Ranger vibe here — Bay is this enthusiastic with everyone he knows, as I discover in the dressing room after his final night playing Brixton’s O2 Academy.
Hier seht ihr die besten Songs des Songwriters aus England: "Craving", "Let It Go" und "Hold Back The River".

Bay has talent, but skinny jeans and long hair don't make him a rock star, says Rupert Hawksley
i don’t agree with all that is written here, but the photos are nice.
James is one of the biggest musical success stories of the past 12 months, He’s been applauded by music experts and fans alike, having won the BRIT Critic’s Choice Award for 2015 and come second in the BBC’s Sound of 2015 poll; his debut hit Hold Back The River left an indelible mark on the charts across Europe and beyond, his album Chaos and the Calm is doing likewise, and he just tore the tent pegs out of the ground at the In New Music We Trust stage at this year’s Radio 1 Big Weekend. It’s all a long way from his scuffling start as a singer-songwriter putting out EPs of fresh hand-made material every few months. And as with every ‘overnight’ success, there were a few big stepping stones along the way. The first being the crucial early support from BBC Introducing, then the support slots with Tom Odell and Hozier (not to mention the Rolling Stones). Or the time he stood in at short notice for a poorly Lana Del Rey in the Live Lounge—at the drop of a hat, you might say—and ended up trending worldwide on Twitter.
