So here’s what I do mean by ‘every American boy is at risk of becoming a rapist’: we live in a rape-supportive culture, and boys have to grow up here, too. To me, this is about facing male entitlement head-on. 

Way too often, we see boys and men acting out violently- some even resorting to murder- when they feel rejected by women they feel entitled to. This is not a problem that other genders have. Consent should be a central part of all levels of sex education for all students, but we can’t pretend that this is something girls are equally guilty of. 

We are not doing a good enough job with our sons and we owe it to everyone to face that reality and do better.
