For decades, no matter where sheâs lived, Jennaâs chosen the residency as far away from everyone and everything as possible. For lifetimes now, sheâd decided to seclude herself in nature, preferring the company of the things that live in the woods to anyone else in town â any town.
That didnât mean she was immune to feeling a little skittish when things went bump in the night. Sheâd never show it, but the nervous tension in her shoulders gave her away the second she came into view outside her porch. âIf youâre trespassing, youâre going to regret it.â Flashlight shining out into the night, she focused it on a face among the trees. âWhat are you doing out here?â
She had been walking â exploring one could say â the local forests. It didnât seem like much. The woods always seemed so boring. Just trees and small animals. However, Stephanie loved them. Apparently she would go hiking every weekend early in the morning so that she could get an image of the first rays of sunlight filter through the trees for her instagram. Now, Daven was left to learn the area so that her inexperience with the bugs, dirt, and trees would not become painfully obvious if it were to come up on conversation.Â
She hadnât expected to stumble onto someoneâs property, but she canât say that she cared all that much. âOh!â She exclaimed, playing up her surprise. âSorry sorry. I didnât mean to trespass. I was just, uh,â she paused as if to catch her breath, âtaking a hike. I like going at this time. Sun hasnât risen yet. Gives me something to look forward to. Itâs beautiful around here. Is that your house?âÂ
