This morning’s BioCup is my favourite one so far. 😍
It feels like I never shaved my beard off last year.
Throwback to Friday night when @ohmercyband turned the Lansdowne into Café Oblivion. (at The Lansdowne)
I don’t mean to waffle on here, but this may be the best-looking breakfast that’s ever been put before me. (at Euforia Balmain East)
Take a big, juicy bite out of this week. Eat it with so much joy and fervour that you don’t even notice the juice dripping onto your white business shirt. Take the flesh, the pips, and the rind. Leave no trace behind. (at Redfern, New South Wales)
I discovered BØRNS one day before my 25th birthday, while shopping for underwear at MYER. I could hear this gorgeous, soaring chorus over the radio—classical yet contemporary; in turns tragic and triumphant. It was one of the best pop hooks I’d heard in the past decade. Shazam informed me that the song was ‘Faded Heart’. Tonight I saw the artist himself serenade an adoring audience. I say that like I wasn’t part of the audience, but I was. There was swaying and swooning. It was more energy than Tuesday night can handle. The moral of the story is to keep your ears open when shopping for underwear. It could be the start of a beautiful journey. (at The Metro Theatre)
The houses in Stanmore have such striking personalities. (at Stanmore, New South Wales, Australia)
I go bananas over Joe Bananas. (Shame I can’t afford any of these.) (at Joe Bananas Australia)
Upstairs @ Berkelouw (at Berkelouw Books Paddington)
Rustic charm.
Holed up in one of my favourite Sydney cafes on a miserable Sunday afternoon, reading a book and forgetting what the time is. One of the staff just brought my coffee upstairs to an intensely focused room of people on their laptops and called out “Flat white???”, followed by a hushed, “Sorry to break the hectic silence in here.” (at Ampersand Cafe & Bookstore, Paddington)
I called this a “selfie outtake” on Twitter, but now that it’s on Instagram I probably can’t call it an outtake. (at Newtown railway station, Sydney)
King Street, Newtown. PM. (at King Street, Newtown)
At Marrickville’s Camelot Lounge for the first time to see Rai Thistlethwayte (for the second time). (at Camelot Lounge Marrickville)
For those who don’t know, Neil Finn is my favourite songwriter of all time, and it’s still so bloody ridiculous to think how close I was standing to him last night. I think that makes six times seeing Neil live. 😍 (at Taronga Zoo Sydney)
Kudos to Neil and Liam Finn. Most fun I’ve had on a Sunday night in years. (at Taronga Zoo Sydney)
“This is my hand. I can turn it. The blood is still running in it. The sun is still in the sky and the wind is blowing. And I... I, Antonius Block, play chess with Death.” - The Seventh Seal (Bergman, 1957) (at Balmain East ferry wharf)
