For the record if people insist Jax isn't trans, it's not media illiteracy it's active non-acceptance. There is no coherent way to interpret the episode with any other lens than Jax being trans. When you see people try to contort the episode about being anything else it's because they're not comfortable with it. To be charitable, there may be kids who don't get it and are susceptible to stuff they see online but for the most part...I think...we need to abandon the idea that people who are adamant about Jax not being trans are media illiterate

Hey, so, the past two chapters of my transfem jax fanfic have aged... scarily well. Did I intend to have Jax killing Ragatha be a parallel to her potentially killing her mother? Of course not, the idea that Jax might have done such a thing never even crossed my mind. Is that just inexorably what it is now? Yes, and there is nothing I can do to change that.

This is like, pretty as close to confirmation as they possibly could have gotten with having her literally just say "I am a transgender woman." Holy shit. Holy fucking shit. I know there are still some idiots denying it, but right now, I don't even give a shit. We fucking won. I can die happy. Transfem Jax is canon.

Kinda weird how the "I just don't understand how Jax could be a transwoman!" type posts tend to come in packs. Like, different people all saying pretty much the same exact things with less than an hour between each one. Can't but imagine what happens is some cis people and/or crypto terfs see people getting too uppity about the theory and so collectively decide to put them in their place with as much plausible deniability as they can manage. Wouldn't be surprised if some of them are only doing it unconciously, too. Something along the lines of, "People are saying this character I like is trans and that makes me inexplicably uncomfortable!" like, Dana Terrace style.
