God is a creative being. He created the diversity and beauty that we enjoy in the world, and we were created in His image! We have the ability to be just as creative in our lives. It's up to you - to look at every situation and see what you can make of it. These are just notes/thoughts/ideas about how I've brought creativity into my everyday life. Some worked. Some didn't. Posted here as an encouragement to me and as a reminder of all that I am learning. Seems simple, but it's not. Our love for others should not be based on their actions but on God's actions. He loves everyone. In His eyes everyone has value and everyone is redeemable. It's not our job to judge or to fix people, just to love them. ❤️

To say my life life looks totally different this week compared to last week is an understatement. And while change is good it is not always easy. One area of adjustment is my quiet time. I'm still committed to starting my day off Inge word so that I can tackle all that the day has to offer. But now I do it with podcasts during my 45 minute commute. Steven Furtick, Judah Smith and today Lisa Terkeust make my commute pretty awesome!

There’s a group of women who feel like they have always been part of my life. The group includes my mom, her friends and their daughters, who are my friends and close to my age. This week one of these amazing women, Sandra Thompson, lost her two-year long battle with cancer. 

I know that she’s no longer in pain. I know she’s with Christ and that she’s completely happy, which is a huge comfort. While my heart literally aches to think that she’s no longer here, I am comforted by the memories that I have of her and of what she taught us through her life.

She was a true friend and mentor. You always knew where she stood, because she’d tell you. She was not afraid to tell you whether she agreed or disagreed with you, but you knew she always loved you. She passionately defended her family and friends, and she would do anything for those people. If you needed a meal, if you needed a cry or if you needed a laugh, she was there for you.

She was a mom and a grandmother and an aunt to people way beyond her blood relatives. Truthfully, she raised a large portion of kiddos from Pine Bluff through her in-home daycare. 

She was usually the first one to cut up, and would do anything for a laugh including but not limited to yelling loudly in public, woo wooing, hiding behind saplings, courting a turkey, spitting on dice and usually sticking stuff up her nose. (She’s the one in white in the picture. This pic says it all.) 

She loved God and loved music and while singing in church choir, it was really hard for her to stand still. Actually, she never stood still.

I am blessed to have known her and am looking forward to seeing her again in what will be the blink of an eye for her. Granted she will probably greet me with a hardy WOO WOO, with a kleenex stuck up her nose, hiding behind a sapling, but I expect nothing less from Sandra.
