Pinned Post: Creations, Crafts & Chaos

Officially giving tumblr (or actually a tumblr for this) another try, so I thought I'd try a pinned post this time around.

I'm Steffi, by day I previously worked at a youth nonprofit, and am currently (as of early May) between jobs since I left my job of 11 years for mental health reasons at the end of March. I am searching for a new position, but since I have time, I'm spending it on arts and crafts.

My art experience is less than formal, but last year during a mental health episode that was the end of the beginning of my job, I started a Patreon and associated Instagram, and snagged the tumblr name then forgot about it. Oops.

My art ranges a lot, but my current and most common mediums are:

Felt crafts (with bits and bobs)

Painting random objects

Ink drawings, sometimes with alcohol markers

Mixed medias (my favorite)

I am really fascinated with paint pens at the moment, and will include glitter glue on anything I can think of.

I do a ton of mental health art, both for my own processing and for a project I'm working on with a friend who is a therapist. That's right, it is theoretically possible for you to see my art hanging at the therapy practice somewhere in the midwest.

A few other fun facts about me:

I hate AI with a passion and think that it is destroying the planet, the usability of the internet, and also people's brains. That last one is actually science-backed, and wish I could post the brain scan images to my former boss' office door and write "this is you" on them.

I have an orange cat. He likes to help me craft. Because he is orange.

I went to an arts high school! I then got a STEM degree followed by a social science degree, so like, I'm a dabbler and I love it.

I'm autistic and spend a lot of time researching things and infodumping for the joy.

Made this sweet mini mad science lab at the library! They run a program where you make miniatures of things, but only on the fifth of some day of the month. These are coveted spots and registration opens 2 months in advance, and fills fast. I'm already excited for the next one in a few months!

I made these campy crafts at a friend's birthday (also hadn't attended a birthday party in over a decade). I can confidently state that I have never successfully completed a boondoogle from start to finish before, and certainly not in one sitting.

My latest in processing was this little zine. I used to be really into zines, and this was a fun way to revisit a zine in addition to the processing that came with it.

Y'all are lucky, this took like 4 tries and a computer restart to upload.
