So when do you want to start trading off?
Now, if you would like! How would you like to trade off?
Hi Im Shadow007x. You can call me 7x if thats easier. But I was wondering if we could do a thing where we give feed back on each others writing. Im hoping to get a few more new tumbler writers in this thing. Kinda like that movie the dead poet society. But annnnnyway. What do you think?
Wow. That sounds awesome. When I put this up to tell you the truth I never thought anyone would find it. Sure! Let's do it.
The beginning
C. Thoughts Recorded by MiMi:
Knock, Knock, Knock.
Then I heard.
Tap, tap, tap.
Then a whoosh of air, a breath upon my face.
Then my skin started to tingle, something trying to touch me.
I open my eyes.
To look into another’s.
Sarah’s Report, Mission: Mars
To My Piece of Sanity,
Missions sometimes go wonky. Its a thing that happens quite frequently, stealing things, wrecking things, and basically creating havoc. Its not the most relaxing job in the world, but its my universe. However, this mission had a different ending. It started with the vents...
Sarah had one mission and one mission only. Get in while Alex was distracting the guards, grab the formulas, and bolt. She could already hear Kat now, complaining that she should have memorized the whole layout. She heard the sound of boots coming her way and found the nearest air vent and lifted herself into it. "You’d think with all of the movies out there in the universe, people would realize that the air vents were their biggest security issue," she mumbled into the microphone.
"Sarah, thank them for their stupidity. If it wasn't for them we would be out of a job," their resident tech, Kat, said into her ear piece. Sarah got a move on while she directed her through the vents.
"Alright, drop out here into this room." Kat said. Sarah quickly got to work, removing the vent and then checking to make sure no one was around before dropping in. She scuttled over to the cabinet that held the formulas that they were pillaging to sell on the black market. She took out a decoder and put it on the security box while she put a contact lens in her eye. As soon as the box beeped and scanned her eye she was in.
"God bless technology," she muttered before carefully placing the tubes into their own compartments in the container before sliding it into her backpack. That was when she heard a noise. Sarah turned around to see another door. "And it looks like I found my way, amigos," she said happily heading towards the door.
She put her ear to it, listening for anyone. When she didn't hear anything she knocked on the door three times testing to see the strength of it just incase she need to break it down. There was no way she was going back in those cramped vents no matter how tiny she was, it was not happening.
What she didn't expect was the door to open for her and in the middle of the room laid the strangest creature she had ever seen.
It had facial features similar to her but the limbs were longer, and the skin darker an almost mocha tone. The hair on the creature was long but very curly, reaching the creatures elbows, but the rest of her body was smooth. Sarah moved closer, amazed to see the difference in their skin. Everyone in the universe had translucent skin, she reached out to touch and a hand came up a grabbed her hand.
Introduction
My friend who told me I should do this blog said that I should talk about myself. I don't like talking about myself. I never thought I would post my work ever but Sarah is making me and her hostile take-over begins mid-sentence.Â
Hi. I'm Sarah. I'm that friend Cam keeps talking about. Basically, Creator is awesome. Our friend Katherine and I have watched the glorious Genesis of this story from the beginning and let me tell you, it's rad. Cammi is probably one of the most creative people I know and her knack for world creation is something I personally aspire to; especially being a writer as well. She immerses you in a futuristic universe with it's own flushed out culture and way of life. But on top of that, she has compelling characters. These are real people with real experiences, facing obstacles that test them and their values. Her story does take place in the vastness unknown of space. However I think it is first most about the characters. Most of them aren't human (or fully human), but their stories are really those of the human experience that I think anyone can sympathize with and enjoy. She'll be posting snippets of the full story and some side stories of the characters as a litmus test while she develops the entire story. This is to see what people think about it. So consider all yourselves special you're in your own little literary focus group. Hurray!Â
Kat and I love this story. And we love Cammi. I'm really excited that she's decided to share this story with you guys. If you like the transportive nature of science fiction or the catharsis of relatable characters, this is the blog for you. Happy reading, y'all. Â Â
