Registering your Dog in India: How-To-Guide For Pet Parents

Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation approved a proposal to regulate pet ownership within its municipal area. It was passed on September 13, 2019. A committee of experts has been established to develop rules for pet registration and determine the fine for owners who allow their dogs to poop in public places. After receiving numerous complaints from pet owners, the committee initially suggested that pet dog registration fees be set at 5000. However, the fee was reduced to Rs1000 when the committee received more information.

Before the committee can begin to formulate by-laws or other modalities, it will first examine the laws and charges for pet registration in each state. Pet owners who have unregistered pets will be subject to fines by the municipal board. The board also decided to fine pet owners Rs500 for every dog found in open areas. Dinesh Chandra Singh (municipal commissioner) said that Ghaziabad residents will soon be made aware of the rules.

PET REGISTRATION REGULATIONS INDIFFERENT INDIAN STATES

All major cities in the country now have laws regarding the licensing of pets. Let's take another look.

Delhi/NCR-Every dog owner must register their pet according to Section 399 under the Delhi Municipal Corporation Act. Annual registration fees of 500 are required for canine registration. They also require a photo, vaccination proof, and proof of identity stating the dog's address and breed information.

GurgaonAlthough pet registration is allowed by the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram, it is not required. Pet owners may register their pets by paying a fee of 500 per year and providing the required medical and neutering certificates.

NoidaNoida has yet to make any laws concerning pet registration.

LucknowFor registration of large (Dobermans, Labrador, German Shepherd) or small (Shih Tzus, Pomeranian, Spitz), dog breeds, owners will have to pay yearly fees of 500. 300. 200. Failure to register your dog will result in a severe penalty of 5000.

Mumbai-Every pet owner must apply for a dog license online india under Section 14(a) of the Maharashtra Municipal Provincial Act. A valid address proof, a passport-sized picture of the pet, the most recent vaccination card, along with the name of the veterinarian, are required. There are fees of 75 to renew registration, and 50 for renewal.

Bengaluru-Bruhat Bengaluru MahanagaraPalike had issued pet licensing laws in 2018. According to these by-laws, pet dogs were limited to one per apartment and three for each independent house within the metropolis. A list of 64 approved breeds was also issued by the municipal body. Pet owners must provide BBMP updated vaccination records and details about their pet, including their name, age, breed, and contact details. The initial year's license fee was 110. After several complaints from residents about their inadequacy, the municipal authority withdrew the bylaws.

Guwahati-The GMC Act makes it mandatory to register pet dogs older than three months. Erring pet parents can be punished under the law. The NGO/society is responsible for registration. It can collect registration fees of 100 and application fees per dog from the owners. After payment of 60 per pet, the NGO/society will collect the metal tag from GMC Veterinary Branch. The signed registration certificate will be issued by the GMC Veterinary Officer.

Pune-Pune Municipal Corporation charges advanced registration fees of INR 500 per year for a period of ten (50) years. Three passport-sized photographs of the pet must be submitted by owners along with an anti-rabies certificate, proof of address and three passport-size photos. The pet must be re-registered each year at the municipal ward office.

Indore -The Indore Municipal Corporation has established registration procedures for pet owners. Pet owners need to bring their pet to the nearest government clinic with the latest vaccination records. They also need to pay a nominal annual fee of 100 to obtain a license.

ChennaiAfter paying a fee of 50, the health department of Greater Chennai Corporation issues the compulsory dog license to pet owners. You will receive free vaccinations at the corporation-run pet clinics in the city with your registration. Pet parents will need to provide the following information: name, color, age, full name, and contact details. GCC plans to make registration online and revise annual license fees.

ChandigarhChandigarh Municipal Corporation has issued Chandigarh Registration of Pet Dog Bylaws 2010, under which pet owners must register pets over the age of 4 months. There are no more than two dogs allowed per family. Blind people are exempted form the licensing fee and the registration will continue to be valid until the pet becomes a living.

The registration process involves submitting a completed application form. An undertaking from the dog owner is required to agree to follow the bylaws. There is a nominal registration fee of 200 for each dog. A vaccination certificate from a registered veterinarian practitioner and two passport-sized photographs of the pet. A metal badge will be issued to the dog after the licensing process is completed. This badge must be worn on the collar of the dog for verification. Failure to comply with the licensing procedure can result in a fine up to 500 per dog, and/or impoundment of the dogs by the municipal authority. In 2018, the municipal body proposed amending the bylaws. These amendments included an increase in the registration amount to 1000 for pedigree dog owners, increased the number of dogs per family to 4, and subsidised registration fees of 1 to adopt street dogs.

PET LICENSE LAWS ACROSS THE GLOBE

Toronto, CanadaThe Toronto Municipal Code Chapter 349 requires pet parents to obtain individual licenses for each of their pets. You can register your pet online, in person or by mail. All you need is a Pet Registration Application and your credit card number. The annual license fee for dogs is $60 and cats $50, respectively.

If the pet has been spayed/neutered and if the owner is over 65, the registration fee will be significantly reduced. To receive these discounts, the pet parent must provide proof of their pet's sterilization and/or age. Toronto Animal Services uses the registration amount to provide shelter and care for homeless pets. A pet license ensures that your dog or cat can be safely returned to its owner in the event of it being lost.

Germany-While most European countries have abolished dog tax in the 20th century, Germany refuses to repeal this law. German pet parents are required to pay the Dog Tax (Hundesteuer), according to how many canines they have. The Hundesteuer is exempt for service dogs and rescue dogs, but not for their first year.

Registering a dog in Berlin costs 120 EUR each year. Each additional dog in the family is required to be registered at 180 EUR annually. Every owner must re-register their dog every year when they move to a new home. Each state has its own requirements and fees for pet registration. Pet owners must also ensure that their pet is well-behaved and follows all local laws.

Cat ownership is not subject to tax in the United States. Both dogs and cats must be licensed. Dog tax and registration fees can be used to create dog-related services like dog waste bins. Many states also have mandatory procedures for personal liability insurance that covers any unexpected damage caused by pets.

Dog Owners Must Know About Rabies

Fear of the unknown has been a part of human history. It doesn't matter if it was thunder or lightning thousands of years ago or smallpox in this century. The lack of accurate information has led to myths, rumours, and irrational fear. Sadly, many people die from ignorance of safety precautions.

This brief communication is from The Welfare of Stray Dogs. It attempts to explain the misunderstood and feared disease of rabies in an easy-to-follow question-answer format. This information would be greatly appreciated if you shared it with your friends.

What is rabies? And what parts of the body is it affecting? (Rabies Symptoms)

The fatal viral disease Rabies affects the central nervous systems. It can cause brain inflammation, which can lead to death.

How does rabies spread? (Rabies Vaccination Schedule)

Infected saliva can enter broken skin to transmit the disease. It can be transmitted by the bite of an infected animal or by the way it licks a wound or cut. It is not spread by air and aerosols are very rare. Although it can be transmitted by any warm-blooded animal (especially mammals), the main source of infection for humans is rabies dogs.

Can it be treated?

It is impossible to cure once the symptoms have developed. It can be prevented with prompt post-exposure treatment.

How long is the disease lasting?

It takes approximately 10 days to one year for the virus to incubate. It all depends on the location of the virus's entry into the body. The disease progresses faster if the bite is closer to the brain. The disease progresses quickly to death once clinical signs are present, usually within 5 to 7 working days.

What are the signs?

There are first vague signs, such as pain, nausea, fever or other non-specific symptoms. The second form of caning rabies is "furious" or "dumb". The "furious" form is marked by extreme restlessness, paralysis, salivation, abnormal behaviour, salivation, weakness in the back legs, and paralysis. This dog can be aggressive and hyperexcited, biting imaginary objects as well. Dogs in the "dumb" version have paralysis and lack of coordination. (A) Wash the wound with soap and water for at least 10 seconds as soon as you can. It is vital to wash your wounds regularly. It can remove 94.4% virus particles. (b) Next, clean the wound with Dettol or Cetavelon, Betadine, or spirit. (c) Talk to your doctor about starting your post-exposure vaccination program. Take the entire course if an unknown dog attacks you unprovoked. Take at least three vaccinations if a dog is suspected of provoking an attack. The dog should be monitored for at least 14 days in either case. Dogs usually die within 10 to 12 days of the virus reaching their salivary glands. It is more likely that the animal will not have contracted rabies if he does not show any symptoms within this time.

Is it possible for a pet that shows no signs of rabies to transmit the disease?

It is very unlikely that a dog with no symptoms will pass the disease. The incubation stage is the "carrying" phase. It starts at the moment the virus enters the body, stars multiply, and ends when it reaches the brain. This period is very rare and has only been observed in laboratory conditions.

Are puppies able to get rabies through their mothers' milk or can they bore with it?

Dutch Shepherds – A Glimpse into the Rare and Versatile Breed

Dutch Shepherd, a rare and beautiful breed of dog, was recently introduced to Indian dog owners. This breed is a close relative to the German Shepherd Dog (GSD) and the Belgian Shepherd Dog (GSD). It is rapidly gaining popularity in its second stage of life. The Dutch Shepherd, one of my favourite breeds, is one of very few breeds that has survived extinction and revival over many years. This process is still ongoing today.

Along with some other patrons, I introduced Dutch Shepherds in India. I was responsible to bring in four of the KNPV-Dutch Police Dog Program's formative dogs to India. Together with a few friends, we now have nearly 10 founding dogs who were brought to India. We have less than 20 progeny out of them and are still in the early stages of developing this breed.

The Dutch Shepherd is a beloved breed that has attracted the attention of many people, including Preity Zinta and MS Dhoni. It is an almost complete breed, with less recognition, as it checks in all points for me, whether it be looks, temperament, fitness, health, or temperament.

The International Police, Military, and Special Forces consider the Dutch Shepherd to be the best breed. We will likely soon deploy some of our Dutchies to the Indian defense forces and private security.

Histories

The history of the 'Dutchie’ is fascinating and will interest any dog lover. The Dutch affectionately call the dog 'Herder' because the Dutch referred to the original dogs as they closely resembled their Belgian or German counterparts. The standard herding companion who could also be used to pull carts and protect the flock.

The Dutch farmers love it. In 1898, the Dutch Shepherd was officially recognized as an official breed.

This breed was extinct after the First World War, and there were very few Dutchies left in Holland. This breed has been difficult to reintroduce over the years. Fans of 'Herders" would not hesitate to introduce GSD and Malinois blood to the breeding program in order diversify the gene pool.

FCI has approximately 2000-2500 Dutch Shepherds. They are willing to accept pure breeding from brindleherders.

The KNPV program of Dutch Police is likely to have many more Dutchies. They will accept Malinois as long as they have the right nerves, drive and temperament.

The current trend is to have the Dutch Shepherds be considered Dutch, while the solid-coloured Malinois would be considered Dutch. This is the view of KNPV breeders and trainers, while the FCI 'purists’ would disagree.

Appearance

The Dutch Shepherd is large and muscular, and has a great appearance. The structure is generally well-squared. The body length to height ratio should be approximately 10:9 according to the breed standard.

They are usually between 25-32 kg in weight. However, there are some large specimens in KNPV because of the variety of genes from different breeds. A few weigh between 45-60 kg, according to me. These giant Dutchies may not be considered standard, but they can be a valuable addition to the elite protection dogs clients.

Their height is between 22 and 25 inches at their withers. However, some may be larger. This breed is very rare.

Three types of Dutch shepherd coat are available to the dog owner:

Short-haired: This is the most popular and most desired of all three varieties. It has a similar coat to the Malinois. They don't require any special grooming and are therefore easy to manage in military and defense forces.

Long-haired Dutchie: This breed is more common with herding dog handlers. In terms of length, this dog is similar to the GSD and Belgian Tervuren. The breeders who produce long-haired dogs are few, and occasionally a puppy may be born with a recessive gene.

The Wire Haired: This breed is slowly rising in popularity and attention. It is a rough-looking breed that some people think looks like a wolf, while others compare it to the Beauceron. Some wire-haired Dutchies are employed in professional security roles.

Temperament

Their charming temperament is one of the reasons I love Dutchies. The Dutch shepherd is an energetic, high-energy dog with unending stamina. Their athleticism allows them to accomplish remarkable feats and challenges that most other dog breeds can't physiologically match.

The dog is balanced and has an on/off switch that allows them to interact with humans. They are loyal to their pack and their trainer.

They are highly intelligent and alert, making them the ideal breed to protect and guard the home and family after a long day of work. They are not easily tired and will always stand up for their family when needed.

This breed has one of the highest prey drives. It is an excellent dog for experienced handlers. However, novice handlers might find it difficult to manage at times.

They are very social and flexible for their temperament. If they are raised from the beginning, they will be able to adjust easily with other dogs and children. As long as the family takes care of their needs, they can adapt to any living environment.

Health

A favorite aspect of this breed that I love is their health, which could easily be considered one of the top ten breeds in the world. The Dutchie, like my Malinois is another breed I seldom need to take to the vet for routine visits or vaccinations.

The likelihood of this breed developing genetic diseases is very low. It has a chance of catching allergies, myopathy, and other issues. The possibility of hip and elbow dysplasia cropping up is also very low. This may be due to the German Shepherd Dogs that were used in the past to revive them.

Based on my experience with working breeds, there is an important point to remember. It is important to provide the dog with the proper training and exercise throughout their lives. This will greatly impact their health and lifestyle.

These dogs become less active and have a duller coat. This can lead to health problems.

A happy, healthy dog is one that's active and well-behaved.

Grooming

Dutch Shepherd Dogs are a wonderful dog for dog owners who don't have the time to groom their dog. This breed is easy to handle, and they would do fine even if we only brush them twice or three times a week.

However, the wire-haired or longer haired varieties would require more frequent exercise.

Due to their low exercise requirements, the Dutchies with shorter hair are more popular among security and defense forces.

Working Dutchies will need to have their nails filed during activity. However, we must be careful about keeping track of their nail length and condition so that they can keep their paws in good condition. It is vital to keep your dog safe from injury. Nails that are too long or ingrown could cause them to become infected.

Exercise

Their exercise needs are one of the most important aspects of living with a Dutch Shepherd, a highly-skilled working breed. These dogs can become neurotic and have severe behavioral problems if they are not exercised and stimulated mentally and physically. They can also leap very high so it is easy to get out of a kennel.

It is crucial to care for the dog's bones and muscles in their early years. Multiple short sessions of exercise and different types of exercise are better than one exhausting and tedious one. This can hinder the dog's growth, motivation, and overall fitness.

If trained to be a peaceful companion, the Dutchie can make a great running or cycling partner. If their prey drive isn't properly channeled from an early age, they can be dangerous with cyclists or runners.

The Dutchies love tug-and-bite, so this would be a great exercise for them. This game is great for both young pups and those who are still in their teething period. Before engaging in such activities, it is a good idea to seek professional guidance. Once they start to train for protection, the tug and bite pillows games are very beneficial. Regular tug sessions in various environments will increase the dog's ability to bite and take pressure.

A Dutch Shepherd adult needs to exercise at least one hour per day in a variety of forms. Dogs can get bored of repeating the same exercise over and over again. The most important thing to remember is that dog's mental and physical health is directly related to how consistent and quality of exercise their handlers provide.

Training

This is my favorite part of the article. It's also the best aspect for the breed. This dog is truly a "trainer's breed". A Dutch Shepherd is a great choice for anyone who is passionate about dogs and tries to get their true nature out. The Dutch Shepherd is a versatile dog that can be trained to guard, track, sniff, detect, herd, pull carts, and perform other advanced tasks. Dog sports like agility, dock diving, bite sports etc. Know the true value of the Dutch Shepherd.

I recommend that you have done your research on a trusted trainer who has a track record of successfully training these breeds before you consider purchasing a puppy. A Dutchie that is stable and well socialized early on will be able to appreciate the benefits of sights, sounds, smells, and sounds. It is strongly recommended that a Dutchie be trained in a crate, especially if there are children and elders or other dogs living with the family. While they aren't dangerous to anyone, leaving them open for the whole day is a license to be very notorious.

When we think of a fish aquarium, we think of an artificial setup of marine world. But trending now is 'plantation aquarium'! Every hobbyist has at least one plantation tank. The true aquarium hobby is about plantation aquariums. Plantation aquariums can thrive for many years if they are well maintained. Today, I'll show you how to create your own plantation aquarium. These are some tips to help you set up your aquarium.

The Right Tank

Buying the right tank is essential. Choose a glass tank over a fiber one. While the shape of your tank will depend on what you choose, the size of your tank is important. There are many factors that influence the tank size. The first is space available. You need to determine how much space you have in your room to accommodate the tank. It also depends on the fish you are adding to your tank. It is important to understand the potential growth rate of any fish that you add to your tank. This will ensure that it does not face space problems when it grows up.

For example, molly fish can grow to 1-1.5 inches. Therefore, you can keep 4-5 Mollies in one foot tank. Goldfish, on the other hand, can grow upto 4-5 inches. Only 2-3 goldfish can be kept in a 1 foot tank. Keep in mind that the size of your tank is important for your fish's growth. Fish will stop growing if they are kept in smaller tanks.

You will also need a taller tank if you have fish like the 'Angels' that grow in length instead of height.

Soil

Your plantation aquarium's foundation is soil. It determines the growth of your plants. It is crucial to select the right soil for your tank. Soil is an investment in your aquarium. Don't be afraid to pay more.

Best quality soils are of the ADA's Aquasoil Amazonia, which are available online. Your aquarium will thrive if it has the best soil possible. It is important that your soil has enough nutrients to support plant growth. The nutrient content of soil will determine how big your plants grow.

Plants

Your plants are the most important part. In a plantation aquarium, plants are as important as fish and choosing right plants is important. You must first decide which plant species you want to keep. There are many types of plants: some are submerged, others are floating and some are carpet.

Carpet plants are the best option for your aquarium. They will conceal the soil and give it a natural look. These include micro sword, drawf hair grass, Drawf sag and Drawf sag.

Submerged plants are very important and essential. These include Moneywort, Pygmy Chain sword, Anubias and many others.

If you have baby fish, such as hornwort or other species, floating plants can be used. You should also rinse the plants after you add them to your tank. Plants can be a source of parasites and pest snails.

Driftwood

An aquarium pump is not necessary as the plants can produce it. However, at night, the process reverses and plants release CO2 which can cause fish to drown. It is better to have one.

- CO2 diffuser

A CO2 diffuser is essential if you plan to grow many exotic plants in your tank. This adds CO2 into the tank.

- Aquarium light.

An aquarium light is essential. This will allow plants to photosynthesise. You should keep the light on for at least 5-6 hours per day.

Filter

A good hang-on filter is a great choice for your tank and essential for any plantation aquarium.

Fish

Proper planning is essential when adding fish to a plantation aquarium. The basic layout of the species should be clear, such as having some algae eaters, mid-dwellers and surface dwellers. These aquariums can also be stocked with shrimps. Your aquarium will be lively with a few snails (not pest snails), a few shrimps, and lots fish.

Many fish species can be kept indoors in plantation aquariums. However, many fish species such as the Goldfish cannot be kept in plantation aquariums. They will pull down the plants and then eat them. Be sure to verify the fish you purchase. A few fish that eat plants can decimate a whole plantation. Parrot fish will uproot any plant they see.

All types of Tetras and Cichlids can be kept in plantation aquariums. Small-mouthed fish are generally kept in plantation aquariums so that they don't have to uproot the plants. These fish are all schooling fish so you will need to add 10-20 fish from one species.

Siamese Algae Eaters

Freshwater fishes include Siamese algae eaters (SAEs), or Crossocheilus oblongus. They are part of the Cyprinidae Family. They are among the most efficient algae eaters. They are the most active fish in eating algae. They are constantly busy grazing algae on rocks, woods and glass surfaces, as well as filter pipes and other decorations. Because of their algal grazing habits, they can be called freshwater goats.

Appearance

Siamese Algae Eaters are known for their long, narrow cylindrical bodies. The upper side of the body is golden and has a paly brown tint. From the mouth to the tail, they have black stripes. These are covered with thick golden strips.

It is not easy to identify the gender of Siamese Algae eater. Although they are nearly identical, females tend to be larger than males. This is the only difference between males & females. At the age of three to four years, their gender can be determined. In the early stages of their lives, it is difficult to determine their gender.

Feeding habits and behaviour

Siamese Algae eaters are omnivores. They can accept pellet foods and flake foods in their aquariums. They prefer to have lots of plants in their aquariums, even though their primary diet should be vegetarian. They can also eat delicate plant leaves and mosses if they don't have food or algae. Provide them with healthy food, even if there is no algae. Because of their body, they can easily access most aquarium parts to search for algae.

They are social and peaceful creatures. They search for algae spots in groups and then eat together. They then sit down on the spot, and then they eat the algae. They usually stay close to the decorations' bottom. Their barbels may be damaged by sharp decorations and rocks.

Water Quality

Siamese algae eaters are found in fast-moving streams and rivers throughout South Asia. These rivers have high levels of oxygen and acidic water. These rivers are rich in rocks, gravels and logs from trees, which provides them with algae.

Tank setup

Siamese algae eaters can be kept in a 100-litre aquarium that has lots of plants and hiding spots. These hiding spots can be created by creating artificial caves. Substrates and soil should be smooth and fine. SAE installations should not be used for items or decorations that are sharp. They prefer moderate lighting. pH should be between 6.5 and 7.5. Ideal temperatures are between 23 and 27 degrees Celsius. The water flow should be medium to high according to their natural habitat. Today, SAEs are sourced from fish farms. They can adapt to a wide range of water conditions. They love oxygenated and acidic water. It is possible to make water acidic by adding driftwoods to an aquarium. Water flow is also important in oxygenating and cleaning water.

They are calm by nature, so keep them away from aggressive or large-sized fishes. They are known for nicking the fins long-finned fishes like betta fish and gold fish. Be sure to keep this in mind when housing these fishes. Rainbow Sharks and Red Tail sharks, which are bottom dwellers, are terrestrial. It is not recommended to keep them with sharks. Cichlids are territorial fishes. They will harass anyone who enters their territory. Siamese Algae Eaters should not be kept with Cichlids. They should be kept with peaceful fishes only. Large-sized fish can cause them to become agitated and even die. Small, peaceful fishes such as tetras and rasboras make great tank mates for SAEs.

Siamese Algae Eaters:

It is easy to keep SAEs clean. They are simple to maintain and keep. They do not have any requirements. These are some important things to keep in mind when keeping SAEs:

You should have water that flows at a moderate to high     rate. Keep your filter clean from time to time. They can be     happy in many water conditions. They should be kept in a safe environment     with no toxins. They can be easily infected by the parasite White     Spot (Ichthyophthirius multiis).

Use smooth substrate to keep them clean. Cuts and scars can     result from sharp substrates and decorative materials. These cuts and     scars can lead to many kinds of infections.

Give them plenty of hiding spots. These hiding spots can be     made from artificial caves or coconut shells.

They should not be kept with aggressive or territorial fishes.

In a properly-cycled aquarium, you can introduce SAEs. Before releasing     SAEs, make sure to check the water parameters.

Indian Pet owners can now happily feed their pets commercial pet food brands such as Royal Canin, Pedigree, and other brands. It is almost impossible to resist the temptation to share a few bites of these delicious meals with their furry friends.

Though these actions are purely out of love, Indian cuisine comes with a lot of ingredients and spices that cannot be categorized as pet friendly. However, the good news is that some of the dishes that are staples in Indian households can be a source of proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins & minerals for our beloved furry friends.

First things first!

Is it possible to make a pet's meal from the combination of Roti/Chapati & milk?

Can I give chapatti to my dog? This is the most frequently asked question. Your pet should eat animal protein as a main component of their daily meals. Your dog's health is greatly improved by eating protein from meat and eggs. Meats like Fish, Chicken, and Mutton are common in a few households; however, it is crucial to ensure the meat is uncooked and does not have any seasoning or spices. As they can cause oral injuries, and may also cause intestinal obstructions, cooked bones should not be used.

It is best to boil or scramble eggs. Raw eggs can contain an enzyme called Avidin that decreases vitamin B absorption and can cause skin and coat problems.

It can be difficult for vegetarian households to introduce meat/egg to their pets' meals. However, it is essential for their pet's well-being. This is where the combination of commercial dog food brands, home-cooked meals, and grains can come in handy.

Role Of Grains & Pulses

Contrary to popular belief grains are not harmful for pets. Instead, they are a rich source vitamin B-complex and fibre as well as iron. Pet owners who believe that their pet should be fed only grains end up giving up essential nutrients that are vital for their dogs' health, growth, and function of their bodily enzymes. Your pet will enjoy a balanced, healthy meal of brown rice and boiled potatoes. Some dogs may be allergic to gluten like some humans. However, whole grains such as brown rice, wheat and barley are nutritious for healthy dogs. To test if your dog likes soya beans, you can give it small amounts.

Optimal Utilization Of Vegetables

Vegetables are rich in essential nutrients. They can be added to pet's food to give them variety in taste, texture and colour. Vegetables such as potatoes (be careful not to use green areas on potatoes), sweet potatoes and pumpkin, green beans and pumpkin, and peas, should be boiled and mashed - especially if they're in large quantities.

You can include fresh and texturally crunch vegetables such as spinach, carrots, and broccoli in your pet's food. This can give your dog some relief from the monotony of regular food. These vegetables can be boiled or fresh.

Fruits are a great snack option, especially when you're trying to keep your dog happy between meals. Grapes, raisins, and currants can irreversibly harm your dog's kidneys so make sure you don't give them. Avoid giving your dogs apples.

You can also include other fruits such as melons (water and musk, with rinds), berries (raspberries. strawberries. blackberries. blueberries.) in your pet's food. A bowlful of fresh seasonal fruits can be a great way to encourage your pet's appetite for these healthy foods.

Dairy Products

Like gluten, lactose intolerance can also affect pets. For the majority of pets, you can provide boiled/homogenized carton or pasteurized milk. Although milk isn't necessarily bad for adult dogs, it can be beneficial to provide.Moderation is key to milk.

For your pet's enjoyment, you can add small amounts of cottage cheese or buttermilk from time-to-time.

Below are some other foods that dogs should not be fed, in addition to the ones mentioned above.

Chocolates:Consuming large amounts of dark chocolate, baking     chocolate, and cocoa beans can lead to hyperactivity, restlessness and     increased urine production. Avoid giving chocolate to pets.

Coffee/TeaCaffeine and tea, like chocolate, can cause     diarrhoea and vomiting. It is also harmful to your dog's heart and nervous     system.

Avocado, Plum,     Peaches:These fruits     are not included in the toxic foods list for dogs. However, they contain a     type cyanide compound which can poison your dog if it eats too many of the     stems and seeds. This can cause dilated pupils and breathing difficulties,     hyperventilation and shock, as well as apprehensiveness.

Nutmeg:The most popular Indian spice is nutmeg. It's used     to make sweets and mithai. Nutmeg can be accidentally consumed and cause seizures,     tremors, problems with the central nervous system, and even death in     certain canines.

Even foods that are nutritious for your pet, such as grains, fruits and vegetables, treats, and meats, can cause harm if given in large quantities. It is important to properly portion pets' meals and discuss their frequency with their vet. You should also keep in mind that allergic reactions can vary between dogs and dogs so make sure to watch your dog every time you give it a new food item.
