A Voluntary Kingnapping? - Closed
the-king-of-the-wind:
Even once aboard the ship, his hood remained drawn; until they had left port, there was still the chance he might be spotted. His eyes subtly glance towards the pier as the crew begin making preparations to leave. He had neither names nor faces to put to his enemies and that perhaps made them the most dangerous. All he truly knew was that their connections ran deeper than he had dared fathom and he could not afford to be careless. It would take only a bit of coin to the right deckhand to find out about the hooded figure that departed on an unusual vessel. Hopefully the would long be gone by that time.Â
âSome yes, though hardly enough to boast about,â Richard admitted with a smile, following the one heâd petitioned for aid. Much of what I know of ships I learned from books or from time spent in the port rather than on the water. âI know enough to tell that yours no ordinary vessel, and that your crew seem very skilled in sailing it, but I am afraid I would be little help without some manner of direction.âÂ
It isnât until they are out of sight that he pulls his hood down, taking a full breath of the fresh ocean air. âI hope youâll forgive my rudeness earlier. I am seeking to evade the notice of a group whose identities I have yet to discover. Please, allow me to properly introduce myself. I am Richard,â he says offering a hand in greeting. âI was hoping I might petition you for aid against this group. Not without reward, of course.â Â
Upon the removal of the other's guise, Eizen would have been lying had he said he wasn't taken off guard. Normally when you dealt with âblack marketâ dealings at sea, there was a certain image you carried in our mind about the customer or colleague. This man did not fit that bill. Instead of a sea-hardened ruffian like he had been expecting, the man before him had a much more refined and elegant aura. Eizen surmised that he must have been nobility of some sort, though he would never had guessed that he had the King himself on board the Van Eltia.
When Richard introduced himself, Eizen moved away from the preparations and left the rest to his crew. He extended out his own hand to grasp the other's firmly and giving it a hearty shake. âI have to admit, you're not what I was expecting. But that's neither here nor there. Gald doesn't discriminate based on appearance thankfully.â Eizen winked at Richard wearing a confident smirk.
âYou hired the right men for the job. We don't ask questions or get involved in your personal business. You need a job done, we do it, and then it never happened,â Eizen leaned back against one of the sides of the ship as he continued to speak, âAll I need to know is why this group is a problem and what we can do to help.â
