#resharing for those who haven't heard!#regarding the alternatives... i would also like to mention HTML and CSS!#in which the HTML and CSS can be hosted on smwhere like neocities or github or some other website host (e.g. cloudflare pages)#all of the above i listed are free btw (though i think github pages might have some limitations on commercial use iirc)#ALSO HOW COULD I FORGET NEKOWEB. its like an alternative to neocities #it's not as 'convenient' in comparison to the link / business card builder sites mentioned above #something like carrd is easy to set up out of the box bc the UI is inuitive and there's not. a language you need to learn #however the biggest advantage of html/css is that it's a universal language that can used on various web hosts #HTML and CSS will give you 100% control over the layout and also who can access your site (e.g. using a robots.txt file to filter out-#AI bots from scraping your website. it's not 100% fool proof but it's nice to have that insurance)#also also i would def recommend buying a web domain if you want your link hubs to be consistent...#you could set your subdomain to be something like links.[YOUR USERNAME HERE].com #so that in case the host or service you're using pulls shit like this you can just point the subdomain to a new service #anyway i will always talk about HTML and CSS as being one of the biggest ways of making your internet presence a lasting and-#portable one that you have control over. indie web is genuinely awesome and i highly recommend it

AND BLOB IM SRS)#anyways i've been following moonlights journey for about two years at this point and it's been such a blast #i think one of my favorite qualities about them is that they're a group of a friends. who earnestly enjoy each other's company #it feels very evident in their comms and whatnot and it makes me eager to see their future tournament runs!!!#also i think their team comps have very diverse eras. at one point or another they centered their weps around each persons iconic wep #i remember they had one dedicated to omega's carbon... during the first NA league they got to play around tent (shadow's specialty)#and now they're playing with 96 gal (nolan's fave) and e-liter (basil's fave!). i think that's so cool seeing how their comp has changed #anyway thats the lizz info dump abt competitive splatoon . i rarely talk abt it but know that i enjoy tuning in every now and again #also fun fact i drew this with the lasso tool + polyline tool. plein airpril has had irreversible effects on my methodology

#lizzy does art #featuring minato nui because i can't take photos 'normally' anymore #these were fun ^_^ !!! we couldn't do digital art so i worked only with traditional art which was an interesting challenge #i hardly do traditional so this was very humbling LOL. very much had to embrace being a beginner for this which informed the theme-#of what i was drawing lol. i do sometimes feel that i could've put more work into these cards but plein airpril was more of a priority #and hopefully i will do more traditional in the future ^_^ !! its actually quite fun and thats one of the most valuable takeaways of this

progress shots for this illustration btw ^_^ ! and some notes:

i originally started the sketch digitally, but the poses felt stiff so i opted to do brush pen sketches in my notebook instead!

i took a photo of the sketches, and refined them digitally using the splat pufu line brush

a combo of lasso + polyline tool was used for the colors, with rolls leaning into more organic shapes and shots leaning into more angular shapes

liquify was used to make the ink swooshes feel more dynamic!

i love the original splatoon 1 box art if you couldnt tell. the poses are etched into my mind! thank you for changing my life!!!
