gorillaz's new short film is probably one of my favorite pieces of animation in a good while. its creation and design philosophy were reportedly motivated by the rise of AI, and their strive to celebrate human expression in art. as a result, computers were hardly used in the creation of the film. i believe they only used digital technology for compositing and sequencing, meaning that this is a work of painted-cel animation in big 2026, which is wild to think about

#xenoblade #xenoblade chronicles #xenoblade 1 #visual development #visdev #color design #lizzy does art #xenoblade has been a part of my life for nearly 12 years at this point. i think the landscapes in the world were really influential-#in how i like to approach art and what i find beautiful. i spent a lot of time sitting on the title screen and taking in the surroundings-#so i think its only fitting for me to do a color key of it since it's one of the most recognizable parts of the game...#i did take some creative liberties though (it's called that i forgot the world was flat because i thought it'd be interesting to-#shift the direction of light and create compositions around that. oops.)#anyway that's my annual quota of color keys see you all in 2027 when i decide i want to do color keys of the same location again LOLOL

Color wheel trend happening on blue sky! I had enough daggerheart pieces to fill one so why not? I'm just happy how my colors look together. I am particularly fond of my rookanis palette. I'll drop the blank psd template in the comments if anyones interested?
